Gevans_97 Posted 28 July 2020 Posted 28 July 2020 I suppose the difference between the goal line technology blunder and VAR is that there’s no subjectivity to it. It IS a goal for Sheffield United that just hasn’t been given. With all the VAR decisions there’s an element of human choice/decision in the matter - so it can be explained away as human error or a difference of opinion. I don’t think bournemouth will be successful but they have grounds to consider legal action. But you can’t argue that Sheff Utd shouldn’t have been 1-0 up in that game. That being said, there was still 45 mins to go. 1
Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 29 July 2020 Popular Post Posted 29 July 2020 I tell you what is doing my head in, it's not so much that we aren't going to be in the Champions League next season but that our capitulation just feeds this horrendous bias from the media and pundits about the supposed big 6. Most of these clueless fools didn't learn from what we did in 2015/16 where they all thought we'd fall apart and we didn't, sadly we did nose dive this year and that will cement their narrow minded footballing beliefs about anything outside the big 6. We are the one club that have and could again break the cartel and it hurts that we haven't done it again and proven a few halfwits wrong in the process. Will we ever have a chance to do it again? We also have proven we are such a delicate club in that once we lose momentum we are just as likely to challenge the elite as we are to career straight back to the Championship and thats alarming in itself. 5

Still don't understand why he didn't address the issue at the time if that was the case. There was some long winded explanation of why VAR didn't or couldn't intervene. If the referee received the signal at half time that would bring into question Hawkeye's explanation of the mistake (blocked cameras). If Hawkeye wasn't working then clearly that information should have been relayed to the referee and the VAR. This could get interesting.
