I only mentioned Elder because he's free and we already own him. This new guy is hardly pulling up any trees so why waste money you can spend elsewhere. Plus 4m isn't a lot to you because it's not your money. You can bet your life someone in the club watches every penny and busy calculating the  losses we may have to incur on the likes of Slimani and Silva so yes, 4m is important, it's a business not Football Manager with play money, some of us forget that sometimes including me.

11 assist from leftback isn’t “pulling up any trees”? Elder is dogshit, £4m is nothing when you think it’s double what we paid for Simpson 5 years ago and half of what we paid for Amartey.

Transfer fees are amortised over the length of a contract so in reality his fee would be ~£1m a year. We’ve given Fuchs another year but this lad will probably be on comparable wages and has legs that work. Deals like this are the probably about as large as an upside as you can get

This even if you sign the boy & loan him out for the season. He either has another good season & replaces Fuchs the following season or you move him on for most likely a profit.

This is likely finished now that Fuchs has signed a new Contract.

I think the thing worth mentioning about Fuchs is that the MLS season works in an annual format of February to September/October. If Fuchs is serious about playing MLS, he will most likely leave in January or he has a number of months without a club.
