Guy Branston, development squad loans manager at City, joined representatives from around the world at Stamford Bridge for a day of quickfire negotiations. The event was organised by online football marketplace TransferRoom, who charge clubs a subscription to use their website, which lists players who are available to buy or loan. This week, they brought club officials from the likes of Manchester City, West Ham, Wolves and Everton together for 15-minute chats to discuss potential deals, allowing sides to cut out the middlemen and hopefully do better business. While no transfers or loans were completed at Chelsea’s ground, details will have been exchanged and TransferRoom’s CEO Jonas Ankersen expects his company to play a role in more than 100 deals before the transfer deadline. “The window is closing in just four weeks,” said Ankersen. "And we are pleased TransferRoom can play an important part in helping clubs sign and sell players. “Clubs decide who they want to meet, so they use the chance to agree terms as chase down potential transfers. “They share requirements and availability and see if there is a match. “We expect that around 150 transfers will be facilitated with help from TransferRoom.com this summer." City appointed Branston to his role in December 2018 and are looking to find senior football for their most promising prospects. Last season, Daniel Iversen (Oldham), George Thomas (Scunthorpe), Callum Elder (Ipswich) and Josh Knight (Peterborough) went on loan to Football League clubs, while Darnell Johnson spent time at Hibernian.

Be great if those leaches could be put back in their box. I’m surprised football authorities (FIFA, UEFA, FA, PL), etc) haven’t tried to do something.

You would have thought so considering the trouble they cause and the money the cost to clubs etc.
