ozleicester Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 The attacks in Hong Kong on innocent people are horrrific, and rumour has it that the Chinese government are supporting the crimes. The videos are very disturbing. Police have been told to ignore... this is heading toward some Tienanmen square sh*t
Grebfromgrebland Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 I think the Hong Kong people will fight to the death on this one. They do not want to be under total Chinese rule.
Finnegan Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 They're more than rumours tbqh it's about 99.99% fact, they were pro Chinese triads beating the shit out anything that moved. Videos all over reddit, it's ugly af. Real shame. Absolute beautiful city, love the place, sad to see it full more and more under Chinese influence. It was probably naive to hope the Chinese would back off and truly give it the autonomy they promised forever.
ozleicester Posted 22 July 2019 Author Posted 22 July 2019 What happened to that post by Trump? (Huli) Chinese censorship?
leicsmac Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 Chinese government in oppressive crackdown shocker. I do sincerely hope the HKers are able to hold the line on this one.
urban.spaceman Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 Went there once about 8 years ago for 3 days and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s a massive shame to see this happening - the people are so opposed to any Chinese rule.
whoareyaaa Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 Crazy some of the videos, cracking place been there for about 5 days its like your going into a movie when coming out the airport on the train at night, would love to go again but not with scenes like we are seeing at the minute.
Dr The Singh Posted 22 July 2019 Posted 22 July 2019 There is loads of uprisings against a oppressive regimes, it's rare that those that are oppressed win.

Yeah it's gutting. I'd love to take the missus over, I went for three weeks and loved it but it was with family. Makes for a different holiday. Can't see myself wanting to go anytime this year given the state of things. 19 minutes ago, Dr The Singh said: There is loads of uprisings against a oppressive regimes, it's rare that those that are oppressed win. It's hard to imagine it getting any better really either. I don't particularly know who's supposed to come to their rescue. The Russians made it perfectly clear when they took Donetsk, Crimea and Luhansk and even shot down a civilian airliner with practically zero consequence that you can pull off that shit and the western world will shrug powerless and watch. For all the fear Russia generates in the press, China is an all together bigger fish completely, not only militarily but commercially in its ownership of endless assets, stocks, shares, enterprises globally. Who the **** is going to step up and defend what's left of Hong Kong's autonomy? I mean we ain't, the silence from Trump at first was deafening and now he's praising China's leader. They're ****ed.
