shailen Posted 3 September 2019 Posted 3 September 2019 I really feel we have a unique blend with these two players especially as it means we are able to play in different ways. When teams sit deep against us it allows Maddison who is becoming almost Beckham/Scholes esque with the way he is spreading the ball supported by players like Tielemans who can do the same. He can also dribble into space and take a man on which for me at times is reminiscent of Hazard. When teams come and have a go at us we have the defenders to play out and beat the press which allows the ball in behind for the best striker imo at taking those kind of opportunities. It would be an injustice to not mention how we have a great screen in N'didi, great ball playing defenders to either play the ball in behind or beat the press and two of the best fullbacks in the league to provide another option for teams that play narrow against us. But its these two players, that really give us that added dimension which we need if we are going to break into that top 6.

This punishes teams with attacking wingbacks as it leaves vardy racing against two centre backs. The key is to move the ball fwd quick. Madison is more key when we have to break down. ... run thru or round a defensive set up. I want to see perez and praet do this too.
