String fellow Posted 8 November 2019 Posted 8 November 2019 JV scored some great goals in October, as did several other City players. Despite this, not a single City goal featured on MotD's Goal of the Month competition. Are the BBC just as biased against Vardy as Gareth Twatgate is? Let's hope that the award doesn't have a similar effect to that of Manager of the Month, which is usually poisoned chalice.

For the August one, there was a technical problem, so viewers couldn't vote. The pundits were Jenas and Wright, and they were meant to decide the winner instead. Jenas took it upon himself to decide by himself. Wright said he had no say. A Harry Wilson free kick beat Barnes's howitzer and a great lob by Vardy.

String fellow Posted 8 November 2019 Posted 8 November 2019 Whilst accepting the JV's goals in October weren't that spectacular, I still don't understand why NO City goal was featured in the Goal of the Month competition in October. For example, Maddison's superb free-kick at Southampton, which was very similar to the competition winner by Harry Wilson in August.

LestaAl Posted 9 November 2019 Posted 9 November 2019 Well deserved for Jamie and not bad for a striker supposedly in his twilight years! Am hoping he keeps smashing them in and picks up another of these awards this season.
