FoxyJim1987 Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Checking out Watfords forum and so impressed with their fan base, proper fans who can have a laugh at their situation, plenty of praise for us as well. Got this off one of their forums the first post is the best its a bit odd but really tickled me, in a strange way. Some of the other comments are great banter too, reminded me of this forum, Watford are a proper club who go through good and bad but always support the club. This isn't an easy situation for Mullins. My ITK sources recall his first meeting with the players and it wasn't comfortable. We have a very divided camp. I can confirm it went as below: MULLINS: I knew Quique Sanchez Flores. He never wanted a war with the Pozzos, he wanted to win matches for his people. For you. I'm prepared to give you those wins. DEENEY: If…? MULLINS: If you swear you join me when the real matches begins. HOLEBAS: Where is Quique? MULLINS: He was fired. HOLEBAS: How? MULLINS (after a long pause): Via text message. The players in the dressing room start to riot. HOLEBAS: I say we send the caretaker coach back to the Pozzos with no eyes. Holebas brandishes his studs. Deulofeu steps forward. DEULOFEU: None of you saw Quique get fired! I did. The Technical Director who broke our squad, Giraldi, wanted to fire him live on Sky Sports to send him a message. Hayden Mullins defied that ****’s orders. His text was mercy. What it did took courage, and that’s what we need today: the courage to make peace with men we’ve been arguing with since April. DEENEY: I exacerbated an injury and lost 3 months of my season fighting for the damn Pozzos. MULLINS: I’m not asking you to forget about your season. I’ll never forget mine. I lost 50 youth players to other teams the night that Quique picked Foulquier ahead of Quina. But I’m asking you to think about your careers now. You'll never sign for another Premier League club if we don’t band together. Leicester City are coming and Brendan Rodgers comes with them. No defender can stop them. Foster can’t stop them. Doucoure can’t stop them. And all the injured players can’t stop them. Only together, all of us, and even then it might not be enough, but at least then we’ll give the ******* a fight. There are small nods of approval throughout the dressing room. DEENEY: You vouch for this man, Deulofeu? DEULOFEU: He’s prettier than both my daughters, but he knows how to coach. He’s young, but he knows how to lead. He didn’t have to come to the First Team. He came because he needs us. And we need him. HOLEBAS: My ancestors would spit on me if I broke bread with a caretaker manager. DEENEY: So would mine, but **** 'em, they’re dead. Deeney walks in front of Mullins. DEENEY: I’ll never trust a man in temporary charge. Deeney walks over to Deulofeu. DEENEY: But I trust you, Deulofeu. If you say this is the way, we’re with you. DEULOFEU: This is the way. FOSTER: I’m with Deulofeu. We play like we have been we’re relegated. At least with King Hayden there’s a chance. DOUCOURE: Deulofeu. HOLEBAS: Keep that chance to stay up you want to give us. Keep your training cones, King Hayden. Soon as you publicly endorse him he's gonna drop you to the reserves and put you on the transfer list. That’s our enemy. That has always been our enemy. Players start leaving the dressing room and head towards the car park. DEENEY (to Deulofeu): I ******* hate Holebas. SkylaRoseReservist @ITK platypus that was really good. You should have one in print. As for the game, erm. . Its going to be a horrible night. But, lets at least try to keep the score respectable. Mullins has been given one hell of an openning game, but he seems to be able to get the U23s fired up. Id say start Deeney and Gray up top. Put Delafoo on later if need be. Quina to start also. We get anything here its a bonus. Leicester were below par against Everton yet still won. Not an easy night for sure. 3=1 Yesterday at 12:21 AM La_tempesta_cielo_68First Team Lesta will put 4 or 5 past our rancid defence I imagine Yesterday at 6:53 AM Knight GTPredictor extraordinaire 2013/14 SkylaRose said: ↑ @ITK platypus that was really good. He is not even close to being good enough for this standard and should not be starting games for us. It will be interesting to see how Mullins sets us up and if sticks to QSF's 5 at the back. Bit like Arsenal away under Mazzarri - I have a feeling we will take a shock win. I just have a feeling that Mullins will have come in and asked them what the main issue was under QSF and will have been told the restrictive tactics. I think he will give our better players license to do more. 2-1 shock. A decent performance and Mullins gets another chance to impress on Saturday. (Beats Palace and is given the gig until the end of the season at least). Ashley Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Respectable bunch especially after the flag they had made via fan donations to pay their respects to Vichai. They have a few decent posters on here too.
murphy Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 I remember the 'dare to dream' banner that Watford fans paid for in honour of Vichai, soon after the crash. For that reason I have some gratitude and admiration for them. That 'sketch' thing at the beginning is painful though.
Guest Markyblue Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Fair play to the Watford fans who have ignored the so called bigger clubs down the road.
Finnegan Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Tbf, their "situation" is they've been a solid Prem club for longer than anyone expected, they sign 40m high profile youngsters, they just got to an FA Cup final and their owners are wealthy enough to recruit a string of fairly well known foreign managers. I know it's not all rosy, the merry go round is awful and they may well go down this year but it's not like they're Bolton or Cov or something. Most of the clubs in the county would kill for their "situation."
BraunstoneFox23 Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Is that a hard to understand 300 reference? Either way fair play to their fans, it must be tough to watch every week.

Of course everything is relative, but I meant that instead of being vitriolic and hurling abuse at all angles they are having a laugh and a bit of gallows humour when they are in a dire situation in Premier league terms. Let's not forget relegation can kill a club and is not a nice prospect.

TrentFox Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Way back when I first left Uni I did some teaching - and taught Hayden Mullins for a couple of years. Toughest part of Reading imaginable - but the loveliest young man / sister / family you could ever wish to meet. Respectful, polite, focussed, smart and such an athlete even back then. After tonight, I hope he turns them around. He’s worked his nuts off to make a career as a pro. Good luck to him.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 Expecting a difficult game this evening, they’ll be fired up and we need to be on our game from the start, I think we’ll squeeze a 2-1 again.
Sianist Posted 4 December 2019 Posted 4 December 2019 They gallows humor that everton fans showed last week was of a finer quality Imo
