Interesting one. I would like to see that team just to see how it performs. I dunno mate thats one of the worst games I have seen all season. and I have witnessed some shockers i tell ya, Milwall should of won with that Barry Hales goal as well. Having said that they will prolly come out all guns blazing against us (if thats possible with the W@$K they have there).

lush Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 The suggestion of Smith being played up-front is an interesting one, and i would like to see it tried out. Smith and hume, but not smith upfront on his own
Gené and Tonic Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 Hammil should be dropped on form after Preston herd he was terrible. He is sensitive, a confidence player. Dropping him wouldn't do any good. Although I suspect Levein will play Smith on the left anyway.

Anish Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 Douglas nissa gerrbrand mccarthy maybury smith williams tiatto sylla hume de vries (unless he is not fit then dublin) subs: henderson hammond kisnorbo dublin hamill Spot on.
Gené and Tonic Posted 31 October 2005 Posted 31 October 2005 Smith and hume, but not smith upfront on his own but of course
Bert Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 Douglas Maybury NEJ McCarthy Gerrbrand Sylla Smith Kisnorbo Williams Hume MDV Subs: Henderson Stearman Dublin Tiatto Hammond
Foxes_Wizard_Striker Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 Douglas-done nothing wrong so far and he is our no.1 Stearman-Need a quality attacking full back McCarthy-Good form Gerrbrand-Look above Sheenan- he should be more attacking than Johansson Hamill-more constient than Syalla and equally menacing Williams-can pull strings in midfield Kisnorbo-Defnsive midfielder helping defence out while Williams attack Smith-Need a start! De Vries-Must have a brace now Hume-Better option than Hammond Subs-Dublin (if De Vries flop),Hammond (If Hume flop),Johannson(Secure the lead and see the game out),Syalla (if Hamill or Smith flop) Maybury (if Stearman/Sheenan flops) I really have thought of everything!
supedaj Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 Douglas - our no 1 although henderson has been an able deputy Maybury - needs a decent run of games and is playing well Gerrbrand - Has looked comfortable McCarthy - several improved performances and great spirit Nils - Hasnt done much wrong so wouldnt drop just yet. Hammond - pace and trickery. Sylla needs a kick up the backside and this should go some way to help that. Kisnorbo - he deserves a chance I think. Williams - no attacking midfielder is a problem as we saw against Preston Smith - Needs to start - his quality is evident for all to see Dublin - good hold up play up front will be perfect for .. Hume - has been crying out for an intelligent target man alongside him Subs Henderson - cos he's required MDV - can come on after an hour if required. Tiatto - can fill in for Smith (for a defensive approach), Nils and Kisnorbo Stearman - Maybury/Gerrbrand/McCarthy replacement Sylla - Can replace Hammond
Gené and Tonic Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 Strongly agree about Hammond on the right there. He has been no use at all up-front up until now.
breadandcheese Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 I disagree about Hammond on the wing. The boy does not know when to release a pass, nor when to time his run. I have never seen him cross a ball nor have I ever seen him make an intelligent footballing move. As far as I can see, Hammond has only two attibutes, pace and commitment. That unfortunately is not enough. I suspect he was a panic buy on deadline day as insurance for if the Hume deal collapsed at the last minute. A lot of people are harsh on Sylla. In the last few games, he has continually put his foot in and tried to get crosses in. True, he has had bad games, but he certainly adds to our midfield. I think people expect him to beat three players with ease and then deliver a pinpoint cross into the middle, that is if he decides not to fire a screamer into the top left corner. This is not going to happen. If he could do all that, he would not be with us.

SIRFOOT Posted 1 November 2005 Posted 1 November 2005 Just a question, how come no-one ever predicts the team to be played, but puts the team they want to see + know it will never happen. I tought these threads were to predict the team CL will play?

His runs off the ball are nothing better than schoolboy (i.e. no intelligence, just running in a straight line, no dragging the defenders away or pulling deep/coming short to receive the ball). He has not shown much skill from what I've seen, no trickery, hardly ever beats a man and never crosses the ball. I think he'd be much worse than Sylla on the wing.
