India are a top side but the whole set up is ridiculous. Means Pakistan can never properly host a tournament again, either.

I'm a massive India fan, but india fans in the stadium are the absolute pits. No decency, decorum or sense. Need to calm down.

Like most stadiums lol

I'm embarrassed sometimes.

And that's how we do that!

Come on admit it...no india, no party.

Agree to disagree on that one.

Realistically it's theirs to lose unfortunately.

Need them to lose their SF otherwise the final is also in Dubai

Is it that unsafe for Indians  to even spend a week in Pakistan?

Does seem a bit extreme ..

Probably is.

Very strict rules around there. Generally unsafe with the political troubles caused by the politicians themselves.

Probably like Ukrainians visiting Russia these days or vice versa.

This is the issue though, don't give it Pakistan in the first place

Then I don't think Pakistan ever gets it again, unless something drastically changes in the geopolitical front.

Of course, in the interests of fairness one could make the argument that means India shouldn't host such tournaments either as I'm sure the Pakistan team and fans could make similar safety based arguments, but that well clearly never happen because of the obvious money based power imbalance.

I think the agreement is that when India host the next couple of world cricket events (Women’s World Cup, though Pakistan are yet to qualify, and Men’s T20 World Cup) Pakistan can play all their games at a neutral venue including any against India.

Given there’s precedents of team’s refusing to travel to countries being made to forfeit games in previous ICC competitions it still makes a mockery of it all though.

Rain looks like ruining what could be a good game .

England won’t mind both teams dropping points if we somehow managed to win both games .

Yep, washed out.

Means that (unless there's another washout) run rate is no longer factor and it's now a knockout tournament for England - only wins will do.

Thought the umpire was going to make a howler of a call then. All I could hear was 'ball was hitting the bat first' but thankfully he was saying 'hitting the pad first' lol
