What an end to the Championship season, Liam Norwell take a bow. Bet the ECB are cock-a-hoop that's he's done their job for them by relegating Yorkshire.

 

Still English cricket's finest competition. So many times in recent years it has produced spell-binding finishes.

Anyone else not like David Gower on comms? He's just a bit boring and just waffles on, thinks he's funnier than he actually is. Like a cricket equivalent of Mark Lawrenson. 

 

Earlier in this Pakistan innings, after a six was hit I think, he said 'ah that'll open the floodgates, if I can say that'. 

 

Given you're in Pakistan and have plugged the charity donation promotions by KFC moments earlier for those needing support after the floods, it's pretty damn insensitive to say!

I actually really like Gower and thought he was an excellent anchor on Sky. But that is in poor taste.

So who plays for England when Buttler etc. are back for the T20 World Cup? Think I’d go:

 

Buttler

Salt

Hales (although sure they’ll go for Malan)

Livingstone

Brook

Stokes

Moeen

Curran

Jordan

Rashid

Topley

 

Bit harsh on Wood, Woakes and Duckett but I think you have to get Livingstone and Stokes in given they can also bowl. Thoughts?

I'd have Wood and Woakes over Curran and Jordan any day of the week. Malan at 3 is nailed on too.
