We didn't. I don't think there was anything sinister or complacent about it- he picked a team that was weakened and restricted and didn't play well. Rodgers took the responsibility.

Excellent summation so it means I don't have to read the previous 23 pages - I really CBA anyway.

The league is far more important but it would have been nice to meet Rangers...........

It doesn't look good throwing your players under the bus and a diplomatic move to take the blame.

Amartey is a utility player and works hard, but we can't expect him to be a creative player. Only Evans and N'Didi, of the outfield players, were performing to their usual high standards.

Castagne, Pereira and Barnes would have asked some serious questions of Slavia. As it was they weathered the early storm and grew in confidence.

Maybe it's something that Maddison brings to the side that's not strictly a footballing attribute - 'swagger'. Vardy has it. They enjoy putting one over an opponent - really enjoy it and opponnets hate it. I saw precious little enjoyment in our team on Thursday.

Nevertheless, teams with more resources have found themselves failing to capitalise when competing on multiple fronts - Man City for one.

Let's hope they get over this hurdle with their confidence only slightly dented. The only plus, as has been commented on by others on the forum, is that the two games a week with its concomitant excursions and physical and mental enervation is now over.

....we have seen this condition before, as if the whole team becomes infected!!!

It has to come from somewhere, it is not down to what Madders and Vardy brings, as we have sleep walked in games with them in it. I put in down to confused instructions and a lack of belief in how to overcome what was in front of them.

I thought he was gash over the 2 legs apart from the goal (which was entirely preventable on our part). Still, at 19, there is plenty of scope for improvement.

Is this the lad that SPrague have slapped a £50m price tag on? I was expecting something a lot better.
