Leicester City chairman makes vows on transfers and stadium with club in 'position of strength'

Aiyawatt 'Top' Srivaddhanaprabha has said the club remain in a a good place despite the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic on football clubs up and down the country.

 

Leicester City remain in a “position of strength” in a post-pandemic world and chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha has vowed to continue to invest in the club’s squad and infrastructure.

The coronavirus outbreak has had a huge impact on finances of clubs up and down the country, with a £67m loss recorded at City for the 2019-20 season, and with the effect to be shown again when this season’s accounts are released next March.


But Top has said that City will continue to back his manager in the transfer market, while the club maintain their plans to revamp the King Power Stadium and increase the capacity to more than 40,000.

The last 18 months have been so challenging for everyone, but I feel like the club remains in a position of strength,” Top wrote in his final programme notes of the season.

During that time, we have worked hard to support our people and our communities, further reinforcing what was already a strong bond between us. That sense of community, of family, is at the heart of our story.

“It shows the progress we are making and our ability to compete on the big stage, but we know it takes time and consistency at that level for us to realise our long term ambitions

 

 

 

 

Plus, fans will be back in at the King Power Stadium from next season, with season tickets now on sale.

If they don't build enough seats so I can get a ST again I'll be a little upset

I had a ST for years at filbo, and then when we moved to KP, I then did an Open University degree and then had a baby with wife working every other Saturday, started my own business also and the year I was able to get on again, 2014, wanted one since then.

I just want to be able to get a ticket to a league game! Last time I was able to do that was away to Burnley the year we won the Championship! Living in the Peak District and working long hours in Sheffield meant there were only a few home games I could attend, but they were always sold out (since we got into the Prem).
