As good as Maddison is he's slow, In a team Brendan wants to play quickly. Lingard would offer us Mobility Pace with Strength as well as Goals. This absolutely blows my mind. Some of our fans just don't watch football I swear. Lingard isn't really fit to lace Madders boots. Granted Maddison needs to work on his consistency but he's absolutely mustard. Lingard is just a grafter with limited technical ability. He'd offer us nothing. He did alright at West Ham because all they do is thrive off smash and grab. There's a reason Lingard has never done anything in a United side that have to actually rely on breaking teams down. 29 1

Maddison has quickened up his play dramatically these last few months. He looks stronger and more ruthless now too, keep him injury free and there's nowt wrong with the pace of his game. 7

Lingard wants 200k a week because of he's free in the summer and only Newcastle can afford him. He's abit confused first he wanted to stay at ManU last year then he was teasing West Ham in January posting pics on his Instagram and than he got pissed off because he didn't get his January move to Newcastle.
Jon the Hat Posted 17 February 2022 Posted 17 February 2022 Lingard is a poor mans Albrighton, similar skill but without the work ethic. 1

Yeah you’re probably right. I was really thinking he’s not a keeps his head down, hard worker like Albrighton or Milner.

Personally I think Maddison is up there as player of the season for us - He's been terrific since the end of September. At the moment he'd get my vote 11

At the moment he'd get my vote It's very easy to be player of the season in a team that isn't winning matches. In our position we need more than that. I like Madison but he breaks up the play too much and very often in the wrong areas of the pitch.
