In all Mediterranean countries (Italy, Spain, Greece) when a player (or players) are blatantly underperforming they're fined or even have contract terminations or contract freezes.

Needs evidence as I cannot see how that would be legal. 1

Fines are the most common discipline measure for underperforming either as a team or individually and the owner has the right to implement them. Most of the times is a percentage taken off wages. For repeating "offenses" the board has the right to terminate or freeze the contract of a player. Happens regularly in Italy, Spain, Greece, Serbia, Bulgaria and Turkey. That feels fraught with problems from a contractual standpoint, do you have any articles that show an example. Would be curious how this can be performed!

Most fans with half a brain have been saying this guy shouldn't be ANYWHERE near our first team for years now. When hes in the team, we lose, end of.Might nit all be his fault but the repercussions of his sub par standards ripple throughout the whole team. 3 1
kyleolly Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 Surely we can loan him to a senior league side

Would be curious how this can be performed! Just Google it. Hundreds of incidents in the countries I mentioned. For starters google Marinakis fines players of Olympiakos. Then you'll get dozens of results across the Mediterranean countries alongside contract freezes etc.

Surely fines are issued for disciplinary reasons? I am not aware of anything that happens for performing badly which is largely subjective and easy for any legal team to contest. I've not heard of this being a common measure.

Guest Bilo Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 He couldn't catch clap in a brothel. He couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery, let alone a defence. He inspires less confidence in the defence than Stevie Wonder as a minicab driver. If I were him, I would retire as a millionaire in June. You'd have to be batshit to employ him.

Corky Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 The fourth best overall, and third best available today, playing is a disgrace. How has he been let back in? 1

Atletico has fined several times players for underperforming. Olympiakos, Roma, Lazio have done it hundreds of time. Partizan also. I won't even mention the teams in Turkey. Legal teams can't do anything. You're underperforming and the club has every right to fine you or penalise you with a % off your wages.
BenTheFox Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 If he was like an academy keeper I'd feel bad for him, but he's a complete parasite leeching us for £40 grand a week. Sorry, but at that point, there's no leeway. 1
Popular Post honeybradger Posted 22 December 2024 Popular Post Posted 22 December 2024 If booing from the fans prevents Ward from playing another game that he would have otherwise have started then that is just as important to our survival as getting behind the team and lifting them to a draw/win. It's not toxic, it's not tinpot, it's our duty as a fanbase in order to give us the best chance of staying up. 6 5

LCFCCKEANO Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 Think without him we are 0-0 at half time… first isn’t great as he should come out and challenge but two and three are genuinely funny to watch
LCFCCKEANO Posted 22 December 2024 Posted 22 December 2024 Felt bad for him on a human level, if that’s Sunday league he’d have been taken off for his own sake
Popular Post Stadt Posted 22 December 2024 Popular Post Posted 22 December 2024 He’s a ****ing scumbag. It’s beggars belief we didn’t do our best to hound him out of the club after relegation and here he is doing it again. He’s a ****ing c unt, the other players should bar him ever walking into the ground again. RVN should be hauled in to justify playing him EVER. The DOF should be sacked for fit signing him for £12 MILLION and giving him a new deal. People should lose their jobs and homes for this. 6
