Is this a joke? A capable goalkeeper keeps all those chances out.

The first one is a half shot into the ground. Yes I also blame Vestergaard in this, and did at the time, who must be the softest 6ft bloke I have ever seen but the ball isn't hit at pace.

The second goal is also a defender error but even with that the opposition should not score. Ward's positioning to start with is awful anyway.

The third perhaps is the worse of the lot and hit straight at him from an angle. No way should that ball end up in the net.

I said in real time I didn’t think it was on him. Watching back I said he was horrific for all 3?

Oh you did. I jumped in. Apologies. I just saw "didn't think he had done much wrong" and then didn't read on. Still fuming with him.

Also a counter argument that retaining the ball, with a sweeper keeper stops the opposition scoring.

I think we can all acknowledge that Ederson isn’t the best goalkeeper in the world, however in the right system it helps.

At the moment, we’ve got a bits and pieces squad.

Maybe it’s as simple as without Winks / Vestergaard, Iversen is the better goalkeeper as well need to play differently. With them, we’d be better with Ward.

Ideally, neither play and Hermansen and Stolarkzyk are back ASAP!

so we are basically losing every game because we have a keeper who cant make saves and has wrists made of paper?

All due respect. Ward shouldnt be anywhere near the team or the matchday squad, I honestly cant remember the last good game he had for us where it wasnt a cup game

for the sake of the club, himself and Us, he needs to go, be better for everyone

I can see why people are walking away from the club - fuch the entitlement nonsense we just want competence - we want too see the correct team selected, clear tactics, a team that are motivated, a team that can take a set piece, a team that will fight to the end etc etc

We currently have none of that - It's a bloody disgrace

All of this is right but the defence needs many games to adapt to a new structure and manager again without pre-season. It's going to leak chances.

A goalkeeper that literally cannot save a shot is going to be a bigger problem than one that can't play a pass more than ten yards.

I'm assuming the same, that Iversen is so bad with his feet that it's a problem trying to play out and even probably going long. That he coughs the ball up so much we'd always be under pressure.

But Ward literally cost three goals and a loss against one of the worst teams in the league. I refuse to believe Iversen's wonky distribution could have THAT much impact, especially with Vestergaard and Coady there to collect the short ball from him and it's not like Wolves pressed that hard.

Understand that some form of vocalisation is warranted at a personal level, a need to express dissatisfaction, but I am just curious who the audience for this expression is! Perhaps I am missing the point though, perhaps it does not matter and it is just a personal expression without an expected outcome.

Personally I think that booing him (which is not something that I’ve ever done, and wasn’t at the game so didn’t this time… but I definitely would have) is aimed at expressing dissatisfaction publicly. The audience includes the decision makers that pick him to play and give him a contract extension - neither happen (in a functioning club) now.

It’s also the only way to communicate with our man child owner. He will hate booing

Agreed, however I don’t think Iversen is that great either.

We all remember his horror at Fulham.

Iversen isn’t that much better than Ward.

Iversen looked great at Preston but he was average at Stoke, with a defence in front of him that could protect him.

What’s your opinion on Ward from a Wales perspective?

No. He’s our third choice because our first 2 are injured. If Mads and Jakub are a very short time away from being back, we aren’t losing every game because we are playing Ward.

There is a clear MINE shout in the highlights. Justin then turns around and looks palms out straight at Ward.

Really??? That’s astonishing if he shouts “mine”… if the ref hears that it’s a free kick. “Mine” is a habit that’s coached out of 6 year old kids alongside picking the ball up when it comes to them.

Seems like Danny didn’t listen to either instructions !

it is a rule that doesnt carry into professional football.

I dont think there has ever been case in top flight football where a freekick has been awarded for it.

When Maresca arrived, he looked at Ward and Iverson and dismissed them both immediately.

Bought a keeper and promoted Jakub.

We’d be saying the same about Iverson if he’d been selected.

They’re both League 1 and cannot play for us ever again.

This is spot on.

Surely that’s because nobody has made such a basic mistake that far up the pyramid??

It’s an unwritten rule throughout football. I don’t think it’s in the actual FA rules.

If Ward has called for it from his position then he’s crazy. Justin would deal with it. Like Vestergaard should have really been stronger and dealt with the first.

I spoke to a ref at my sons under 17s game about this and there is nothing in the rules anywhere about this ‘mine’ pure myth..

nope, you often can pick it up on the mics. I always wondered it and now i have said it next time you watch a game you will clearly see it.
