Simply am not having this misunderstanding nonsense. Whether we need a refresh or not., whether we get one or not, the manager clearly identified a need for new blood and he must deal with the fanbase disappointment if it doesn’t happen…

Without being able to remember the exact words he used, we were all clearly left with that impression.

Didn't Top also say - or at least, heavily imply - that it was going to be a busy summer transfers-wise?

Well, perhaps it st will be.....

honestly i think alot of people misunderstood what he meant, recently in an interview he was referring the refresh as a reset mentality, aka Evian. get back to what the club is about

Im trying to work out if you wrote this with a straight face or not.

Seriously, if Rodgers told you tomorrow was Friday I think you’d believe him

Agree, but on another note, this has not freed a slot as Praet is back, so we still need outs before any in’s.

I ain’t frustrated at reading the transfer news, to be honest what bugs me more is the sheer negativity of some people. My god Twitter (and most of the posters are probably on here) is a depressing read at times.. it’s an absolute cesspit.

yes city have been linked with a couple of midfielder names, but what’s wrong with seeing what some of the youth can do first? Alves or Sammy Braybrooke? One transfer signing ain’t going to make City a top 4 team..

Relax people.. It will hardly be a relegation scrap. The team we see is quite a strong one. All they need is a bit more passion at times

Personally, I think your certainty that this season doesn’t involve a relegation battle is a perspective many of us do not share. We are mentally weak, physically one of the softest sides in the division, have no discernible style of play - beyond sideways and backwards - and rely on the flair of Madders and ageing brilliance of Vardy in front of goal. If either are out for a sustained period, I genuinely fear for our results. It’s why so many of us have been desperate to see movement in our transfer dealings. Anyone with half a clue can understand why it’s not happened - yet - but to say we are above a relegation battle is not where my thinking is at.

Weird then we finished 8th, despite playing more matches than most and having a horrendous run of injuries. If we were that weak we would have been in a relegation fight all last season. 2 things cost us points last season, conceding from set pieces and conceding late goals, both of these can be worked on and improved without making signings.

Fella, I’m not trying to convince anyone or win an argument - just sharing an opinion. But if conceding goals from set-pieces can be worked on, why hasn’t it been resolved, already? We made a reasonable start last year and won a few with low pressure at the death. But Vardy is a year older, a bit slower, and maybe a tad more susceptible to slower recovery from the physicality of the league. Maybe less games means we have better players on the pitch for more time.  Who knows how it all plays out. 🤷  But right now, I reckon we will be lower half and who knows how this squad will cope if we have a really crap start.

Turd polishing at its best. Can you imagine all the other club's fans in the Prem being happy if their club had signed no one and looked like not even going to sign anyone? Face reality we are in the sh*t and not a pot to p*ss in. It can't be clearer than that.

This season is just going to be a holding season until we can get rid of those not good enough whose contracts run out next season. hopefully, we have enough to stop up and regroup next season. And that is just about the ambition the club itself holds out for the season as well. It may do us a favour if we struggle from the off because it will make it impossible for Rodgers to continue. One way or another this season is going to be a bumpy ride.

Not sure how Spurs fans reacted to it as they didn’t sign anybody in 2018/19 - although did get to a CL Final

We finished 8th only because of the easy run-in against the bottom sides. Both of your reasons are true, but then ask yourself why the manager either could not or would not do anything about it? The biggest cost of points last season was down to the manager and his hopeless tippy Tappy possession football which was slower than a snail's funeral.

Their fans acted exactly like our fans are now doing, and who could blame them?

Turd polishing lol Look bottom line is I ain’t trying to point the finger, it’s just a general opinion. But just because a signing hasn’t been made doesn’t necessarily mean championship next season. Like you say it will be a bumpy ride, but too many people are quick to write the race off before the pistol has fired.

It just seems overly pessimistic, of course it has been worked on, but playing 2 games a week with a severely depleted squad gives little time for training and working on things. As soon as we were out of Europe our results picked up. Our fully fit first 11 under Rodgers has regular taken points off all the big six and spanked most of the lower half teams. Yes we've had some shocking results, but so has every other team. Average points and position under Rodgers puts this easily the most successful sustained Leicester team in most of our life times. I'm not going to just write it all off because we finished 8th despite throwing in the reserves for 4-5 games towards the end of the season. It's nowhere near as bad as people are making out.

Yes well, that is because many of us have little or no faith in the manager. I for one don't think the problem lies with the current players. The real refreshment needs to be a new manager.

But we are Leicester…we don’t „do“ what other fans do….

wiley foxes, not trailing sheep…

Never follow that boring known trail

but go forth & forge new ones so others can follow..,

The foxes spirit & ethos you haven’t yet grasped..

You sheep in foxes clothing..:giggle:

Answered above, we played so many games, we were constantly managing fitness and had no time between games to work on things. You can't claim an easy run inflated our league position. You play every team twice, in the same way a tough run in dropped us to fifth in the previous 2 seasons you finish where you deserve by playing everyone twice. For the slow tippy tappy stuff, yep not great but we were constantly managing fitness all season, by the start of the year everyone was probably at 80% and that makes it so much harder to go full tilt. Again I'm not saying things are perfect but they are nowhere near as bad as people keep making out.

He was our best player at some points last season and looked the only likely player to open our opposition up. He will be missed.

Even if that run-in was earlier in the year it is reasonable to think we still probably could have beaten them, it isn’t like Watford, Norwich, and Southampton were better teams earlier in the season, it was an easy run in because they have all been crap all season.

We finished 8th because that is where we deserved to finish.

For some “hopeless tippy tappy possession football” we did quite well then to end up scoring the 5th most goals in the league.

It's the same for all the other clubs.
