If we’re pinning our hopes on Hirst to help us bounce straight back up then we are ****ed

Bar miraculous recruitment, staff & players, we aren't going straight back up. This squad needs a rebuild, which requires intelligent and driven individuals with a plan who are backed wholly and astutely by the ownership.

All signs currently suggest transition. We're now a Championship Club.

There's just nothing to suggest he's any more than a decent to good League One striker, is there? Granted we might find ourselves in need of one of those before too long. No goals in either of his Championship loans and if I remember correctly Leuven weren't exactly blown away by him either.

Yep for sure . I’m not one of those expecting a mass over haul and bouncing back up . It took us long enough to get up  in the first place I am expecting  it to be 3-4 seasons tbh .

If Ipswich offer a fee, we have to take it. Hirst was the type of signing we should always take a punt on when he first arrived.

He’s now 24 years old, had two honking loan spells in the Championship and two solid-good loan spells in League One.

I’d imagine he also on about £10k-£20k per week, which in our position is a wage worth saving. If there’s cash on the table snap their hand off.

£1m a year, so £20k per week basic

Thanks. There we go then.

If we get a fee in and around £1m-£2m which Ipswich can definitely afford then it’s time to part ways and role the dice on someone else.

I am expecting Hirst to be in the squad next year as 3 choice.

Also Choudhury,Brunt, Nelson and McAteer in the squad and later on Alves and Baybrooke to be involved.

The makeover incoming won't be as big as some people think

If the scouting and recruitment team know their stuff there should be some loanees from properly run premiership Clubs to bring in to the squad

This will depend on the manager
