Everyone’s asking when is he getting fired - just need to consult the “sack the manager” play book - first the board say some time today we still have total confidence in the manager but results need to improve..... Then after an absolute twatting  against Villa they finally pull the plug in the nicest possible way.

I have every confidence the board are aware of the situation both inside and outside the club and have their reasons for the actions or inactions they have taken so far.

Whilst many on here may not agree with them all will hopefully be clearer in the next week or so.

Rodgers has convinced this team they are not good enough they are now 'to good to go down'  and not strong or confident enough to stay up.

Giving the Manager a vote of confidence wont change that.

Rodgers is the only one at the club who can rectify this he needs to clear the air with the team and individual players he cast aside and bring them back into play hopefully getting some wins and bringing the fans back onside.

Can he do this? Plenty of fans think not. Do the board? Time will tell.

I hope and expect him to go by tonight or tomorrow.

That's not changed for over 12 months now and it's not happened yet so at the same time, I think i'll be disappointed.

So, going forward, if they're not going to make the decision and he's still in charge for the next game, I suggest they fight fire with fire, release a statement of intent, a 'guarded but scathing' vote of confidence (Contradictory I know, but much like an employer can't give a bad reference, they can word things in a certain way).

This puts pressure upon Rodgers, it might also push him into taking a cheaper payout with a mutual decision to protect 'Brand Brendan', his ego and reputation.

Unfortunately the board cannot afford to sack Rodgers and, obviously, he won't walk so we are stuck with an impasse. The longer the saga continues the more likely we will be relegated.

Which will cost the club even more.
