Thracian Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I'm saying that that the team which I expect Levein to go with. Let's forget about the likes of Sheehan and Chambers for the moment and can you tell me your predicted line-up for the match...not one that you would like...because the calls for sheehan and chambers to play are getting rather repetitive. I've been repetitive about a lot of things Levein finally introduced on Saturday. You, however, still don't say what you've got against the young players and why you think Nils is so terrific at left-back. As for the team I expect Levein to play then he's short of alternatives having refused to sign any covering forwards when I and others begged him to. So, I have little doubt he'll go for the sort of multi-Rottweiller line-up you've mentioned. Ironic that seeing as I thought he would give our younger players chance to make their mark in the League Cup and, indeed played some of them in earlier rounds (which we won). Now, I believe, his nerves will fail him and that's why, in my opinion, he will never be a great manager. He favours age and experience way beyond the borders of logic. Me, I'd rather Leicester aimed for a sort of Busby Babes - a team of relatively young players who can develop together, impose their own standards everywhere they go, and set the name of Leicester City inlights around the country. Your method might grind out a "result" at Bolton but I have a vision. I don't want ground out results as a modus operandi - I want a football team to be proud of. And I don't like people calling me "ludicrous" for wanting a change from the sort of shit we've been served up as football these recent seasons and which has seen our gates (and therefore our commercial viability) plummet.
Barwell Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 I really hope that Levein names a decent side as I don't think Bolton will name that many first team players. Yes we have to think about the Leeds game & this is a game that we aren't exactly favourites for. But how many of us expected a result against Charlton last season?

We can win this game using our kids or our old timers. The question is whether we will learn something that takes us forward in doing so or whether we opt for pickpocketing.
Bluefoxtim Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Just been drawn Bolton away in the FA cup 3rd round on FM, I'll experiment with a side and get back with the outcome. HAHAHA my brother got them promoted first season, not very realistic is it!
Shauno45 Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Big Sam rings the changes Bolton manager Sam Allardyce looks certain to ring the changes for the Carling Cup match against Leicester at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday. Greece winger Stelios Giannakopoulos could return to the team for the fourth-round match after missing the defeat by Fulham at the weekend. Nicky Hunt (broken leg) and Henrik Pedersen (Achilles) are both approaching full fitness after injury and might be given a run-out. Bolton (from): Jaaskelainen, O'Brien, Hunt, N'Gotty, Jaidi, Ben Haim, Gardner, Pedersen, Giannakopoulos, Faye, Nakata, Okocha, Speed, Nolan, Diouf, Davies, Walker, Vaz Te, Djetou. http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._861054,00.html

We don't want to turn into a shop window though Thracian. I know it's stupid to suggest that we should never play our young starlets because they will become hunted, but in this league, with our finances, we would not hold on to anyone for very long if they started to shine. A bit of a catch 22 if you ask me.
Collymore Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 HAHAHA my brother got them promoted first season, not very realistic is it! lost to bolton 1-0.....without turning this into a FM thread...drawn 1-1 with chelsea in the league cup and lost AET. It kept saying Elvis was causing them all kinds of problems
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 November 2005 Posted 29 November 2005 Hughes and Williams to Start From the looks of what he's saying, their will be little change at the back, and as little change on the wing as possible ( hammil possible in for smith ) " One or two changes" So MDV Back those two in midfield possible Henderson in for Dogulas. Which means you can probabley guess the team now. It's now just a question of who playes? Hammond or a 3rd midfielder?

Expect a third midfielder because Levein has said that our main task tomorrow will be stopping Bolton from playing.

Louise Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Mad Biker on Talking Balls says: The "travelling" squad is 19 players, the 16 plus stand by`s, would guess that young Porter would be the most likely to travel, along with Logan of course.
Ric Flair Posted 30 November 2005 Posted 30 November 2005 Mad Biker on Talking Balls says: Would be nice to see him get a chance at some stage, Porter that is. Actually I wonder whether Mad Biker means Chambers not Porter? With de Vries being our only fit striker we need another option.
