They are not this all conquering fluid total footballing team the media would have you believe.  Fed up of hearing it. They are good of course and win a lot but it's largely based on moments of individual brilliance from the wide men. In reality they verge on the pragmatic, they usually have a vey organised defence with holding midfielders and rely on the mavericks up front to get the win. Not dissimilar to England.  Nothing wrong with that at all but let's leave the total football clichés in the 1970s where they belong.

They've been entertaining for the most part. All that fluid football stuff is indeed an archaic idea. The closest thing we have to that today is when Man City really turn it on. But you cannot compare football across 50 years. They're almost different sports at the top level.
