Some really good names set to be in the National League next season with Carlisle, Hartlepool and Yeovil already there as well as the possibility of Rochdale, Oldham, Southend, Scunthorpe, and Torquay depending on the outcomes of playoffs. Mad that Boston's away calendar in 25-26 could have six of our away trips from the League One season. Torquay lost their semi final one nil at home so won't be them Boston were on the beach today
Soar Fox Posted 5 May 2025 Posted 5 May 2025 Glad Kettering lost. Something unlikeable about Richard Lavery 2

It really is an incredibly strong league when you look at it from the eyes of my local club. We beat Hartlepool + Braintree in the FA Cup this season and you could see a little more quality in the style of play but not too much difference. So many good teams and I hope Scunthorpe go up as it’s my wife’s nearest town from where she grew up.

Boston had to go on basically superhuman form for about six weeks to survive, but you'd fancy them to kick on a bit next season and finish midtable. Some cracking away days next season as well.

Phew, yeah it does look tough and I have 1-2 away games lined up. Quite like to go to Solihull Moors as it's easy to get to from home. Hopefully the sloping pitch (in multiple directions!) will continue to give home advantage as a friend of mine that used to play in step 2 hated playing at Brackley in the second half as the away side normally has to go up hill! It will be a pleasure being part of the NL next year and good to see Boston again.

Something unlikeable about Richard Lavery I know a former player of Hinckley Utd who played alongside described as a thug. He once was arrested for on suspicion assaulting someone following a night out in the town an hour before kick off. He was let go due to lack of evidence. Apparently known for violent behaviour. There was one story about threatening a neighbour after someone reported him playing loud music until the early hours.

Knocked around the Northants leagues until signing for Boro this season . Thing is he is a Leicester lad (works at Seagrave} and is a season ticket holder You also have the history with Rugby’s RB who at 35 is still an absolute baller and speed merchant 1

Don’t let the barnet trick you he ain’t quite 35 yet can knock about four years off that. Might prove a missed opportunity for AP this season with Nuneaton, Atherstone and Rugby Town all potentially heading for the UCL South 1
joeybside Posted 5 May 2025 Posted 5 May 2025 He was at Quorn a couple of seasons ago and was a stand out player despite the club going through some sticky times. Always had time for a chat too wish him nothing but the best. Make no bones about, UCL South is going to be a great watch next year. A bit of dead wood moving out and some strong teams coming in. Be interesting to see how Hinckley AFC do too. 1

Guest Bilo Posted 6 May 2025 Posted 6 May 2025 If we think we have it bad as a fanbase for communication with fans, this is the only communication from Dagenham since relegation. No acknowledgement of the relegation or even the ability for fans to reply. Makes our lot look like peak Alastair Campbell in turns of comms.

Strange timing of the 2 lads leaving and going to St Andrews at the back end of the season. Or was it just a case of them going for more ££££
Jon the Hat Posted 7 May 2025 Posted 7 May 2025 Pleased to see Woking crept slowly away from the relegation zone in the national league to finish up in 15th. Up the Cards!
CosbehFox Posted 8 May 2025 Posted 8 May 2025 Looks like Leicester Road on their last legs. Got wind up petitions against them. Was always going to finish this way

Very healthy commercial position, keeping crowds up at the 200 mark, membership up, and we’ve had some of our highest attendances over the last couple seasons. The only thing missing is our own ground and LR going under may open an opportunity…

The issue he has is what does he do with it? As I understand there’s a sporting covenant on the land, and I like to think the council are sympathetic enough where that is pretty immovable and it’ll struggle to get any right to sell it off for housing. Would the rugby club want it? They’re certainly cash rich and have been quite aggressive in their expansion. But it’s a lot of money for something they probably don’t need, and it leaves their state of the art new clubhouse a bit out the way. I think there’s a bit of a chance anyway over there with their long-time chairman standing down so it might not be the opportune time. It’ll be a right old process, and LR going down the pan would only be the very foot of the hill, but it’ll be the closest Hinckley has got to getting it’s ground back since the whole thing kicked over over 11 years ago.
