He’s done enough at Chelsea to go to a much better club when the opportunity comes.

Scum ass club.

What? Maresca was good enough here.

Huge difference between having Leicester in the Championship and Chelsea though. Cooper was good enough at Forest.

Maresca is very much part of the problem at Chelsea, but the ownership/board are obviously making the job harder

You know nothing about Chelsea mate, their ownership and sporting directors have absolutely shafted him.

They operate a player trading model of buying youngsters to then sell off for profit, they're not interested in winning trophies.

They won't back Maresca, he's ambitious and they're crooks who swooped in thanks to the Russian invasion of Ukraine leading Abramovich to sell the club.

Abramovich would have bought Maresca top players so that Chelsea could compete, these Americans are only interested in churning revenue for their pockets.

I think he'll go elsewhere and do well. His only downfall is how stubborn he is and unwillingness to change things slightly, even when things aren't working.

Your entire opinion is just as much an assumption as mine is.

Its not an assumption, look at their idiotic transfer strategy since Abramovich left.

Please don't involve yourself in conversations you haven't researched on. You sound like a bitter ex angry that Maresca left. Maresca was right to leave us because our ownership is also garbage.

I think Maresca is trying to model himself on Conte.  "Give me what I want and I will deliver, don't and I'll fxxk off".  And despite doing well with us and winning some trophies at Chelsea, he's not shown he's on the level of Conte yet, and he might well be fighting a losing battle on that front.

You are assuming that if Abramovic was there, Maresca would be successful. That is complete assumption.

I’m one of the fans that openly said he would be more successful relatively at Chelsea than he would ever have been with us because of the quality of player at his disposal and the amount he would have needed to spend here to make it work.

I know Chelsea are a mess, but to take all blame away from Maresca and place it solely on the board seems a bit disingenuous, he’s not getting the most out of the players at his disposal, as usual he is stubborn and refuses to deviate from his way.

His style has evolved somewhat from when he left us, but it’s no coincidence that a huge portion of the fans are utterly bored of his tactical system and are constantly talking about his stubbornness and unwillingness to adapt when it isn’t working. It’s the exact same thing our fans were sick of towards the end of the season when we blew a 17 point lead and almost dropped out of the top 2 before a late run.

Their squad simply is not good enough to compete in a title race. They have a few players like Palmer, Caicedo and Reece James but the rest are bang average.

Do you realise how ridiculous it sounds for that Chelsea team to go toe to toe with Man City and Arsenal? Quality difference between Chelsea and them is massive.

Abramovich gave them players like Terry, Lampard, Hazard and Kante. Modern day Chelsea are a joke.

Have a look on the Chelsea forum and you’ll see all you need to know. They havee practically all wanted Maresca out for a long time.

Chelsea fans were brought up on horrid defensive football, so any sort of manager that wants to instill a posession-based philosophy makes their feeble fans go "Gerrit forward".

Especially the match-going fans at Stamford Bridge, one of the worst fans at home in the Prem when it comes to moaning.

Their squad is absolutely good enough to be doing better than they are doing.

Reece James, Estevao, Palmer, Fernandez, Garnacho, Caicedo, Cucurella, Fofana, Pedro Neto, Jamie Gittens, Sanchez are all good enough to be fighting at this end of the table. I'm not suggesting they should be top, but they are 15 points off of top.

Drew against:
Bournemouth 2x
Newcastle
Brentford
Palace
Qarabag

Lost against:
Villa
Atalanta
Leeds
Sunderland
Brighton
United who have been awful...

Nobody is expecting them to be top of the league, but they should not be dropping most of these points in many of these games, he's not getting the most out of what he's got.

No surprise , obviously grateful for him getting us promoted but the football at times was a snooze fest . Many fans didn’t  take to him because of his arrogance, over inflated ego and like at Chelsea snide cryptic comments in interviews.

To be fair it's only because Villa are above them that there'd be any reasonable gripe about their league position.  Nobody would have put them above Arsenal, Man City of Liverpool before a ball was kicked.
