Jimmy Posted 15 December 2005 Share Posted 15 December 2005 http://www.lcfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/...~756003,00.html Leicester City will be firing 50 blue and white beach balls and 1,000 balloons into the crowd ahead of Saturday's Championship clash against Crewe at the Walkers Stadium. The game looks set to be played out in front of the biggest crowd of the season to date as Leicester fans have taken up the club's offer of special discounted tickets for the fixture in their thousands. There will be a number of special events on the day, including a half-time penalty shoot-out between fans of both sides. There is also a rumour that Santa himself will be making a fleeting visit! City's Head of Football Administration Chris Tinbergen said: "We want balloons, ticker-tape, anything really that supporters think will help. It promises to be a great day and is certainly a better alternative to Christmas shopping!" The Ticket Office will be open until 7.00pm on Friday evening, and again from 9.00am on Saturday morning to help cope with the expected last minute demand for tickets. Tickets are available from just £10 for Adult Members and £15 for non members, and for just £8 for the Under 22's and over 60's. A further £5 discount is available to everyone who collects the tokens in the Leicester Mercury. Supporters are also reminded that tickets are available to purchase online at a special price of just £8 for adults and £3 concessions. Tickets will be available for collection on the day of the game from 9am at the walkers Stadium ticket office. But hurry - there are just 500 online tickets remaining

The People's Hero Posted 15 December 2005 Share Posted 15 December 2005 Talk about blowing your own trumpet- Replace 'blowing' with 'sucking' and 'trumpet' with 'penis' and you've come up with a skill that I just don't possess.
Nationwider Posted 15 December 2005 Share Posted 15 December 2005 Replace 'blowing' with 'sucking' and 'trumpet' with 'penis' and the Grimethorpe Colliery Band would have been an extremely bizarre, middle-aged, gay porn display team. Back on topic... Beachballs? More of an end-of-season activity? Arranging for Elvis Hammond to fire 3 or 4 actual footballs into the back of the Crewe net would be first-rate entertainment. The People's Hero Posted 15 December 2005 Share Posted 15 December 2005 I seriously hope that when we bought Elvis we kept the receipt. And that's being polite by my standards.

Tommy Posted 16 December 2005 Share Posted 16 December 2005 As Ricey said, I appreciate the club for trying to get a good atmosphere going at the game against Crewe, cos lets face it, hardly a glamour tie is it. However, I just hope it don't fall flat on its arse. Don't think it will though. At least I hope not

However, I just hope it don't fall flat on its arse. Don't think it will though. At least I hope not As long as the fans participate with what's going on and try to enjoy themselves then I think an atmosphere will be created. Can't be sure whether the performance by the players will be as good aswell. One thing is for sure, if the atmosphere is good, any kids that are there tomorrow that haven't been before will want to come back again regardless of the result which is a good thing. syston_fox Posted 17 December 2005 Share Posted 17 December 2005 Did anyone else see the steward kick one of the beachballs and it burst on his foot? Comic Genius! I wouldnt be suprised if one or two people let the air out of them and kept them as souvenirs. Expect to see some on e-bay within a few days as well i should think! Jonbluefox9 Posted 18 December 2005 Share Posted 18 December 2005 They kicked about 49 of the beachballs into the away end. Every Crewe fan had one! They were pathetic, they never even reached the top part of the Kop. Whenever someone hit one up it floated forwards again. I think they should do what we did up at the City of Manchester stadium a couple of seasons ago. I think we were hitting a real football that someone had brought along, up and down from each tier, much to the disapproval of the stewards I must add.
