I don't think we're getting a top class manager in but a mildly competent one at present would be a huge upgrade.

So who is a mildly competent one who is going to want to come?

What the point of spunking yet more millions on someone else who might not work because they are not top class. We have to be sure if we bring someone in they will be better, I’m not confident the club are competent enough to do that

So who’s coming to this club with a 12 point deduction, embargo who is top class, genuinely interested?

Top class? - genuinely nobody. Better than Ruud? There many many managers better than him.

It won’t end up being 12 points either

Disastrous if we’re getting Russell Martin. Southampton set a PL record for defensive errors leading to a goal before the season was even halfway through.
All that possession, and nothing to show for it but sideways passes and calamity at the back.

So which manager comes to us with whatever points deduction we get, an embargo. Which of the many better managers?

Wait...it's been hours and people are STILL discussing a Pete O'Rourke/FootyInsider source? lol

Do you not think it would have been picked up by Percy by now if there were any truth to it? There's an unhealthy obsession with that source and us currently cause it's easy for them to generate clicks...they're talking about Vardy to Palace I just saw too🥱

If RvN goes, it might not be Martin replacing him.

So basically you are asking who is better than Ruud, and would come to us?

Rohl, Martin, Dyche, Hasselhuter, Farke(if sacked) Robins, Carrick (if sacked), Big Sam, Nige, Dean Smith, Gerrard, Benitez, Lennon…..

I mean, literally almost any manager which you can name that isn’t secure and happy in there current position, or is out of work, is better than Ruud. Look at the statistics!

BTW, this is not a list of who I want!!! (Some of them are awful!)

It’s just who could/would come and be better than Ruud (which surely tells you everything you need to know about how bad Ruud has been!)

We appoint Cooper and you think - that’s the worst appointment we’ll ever make. But no …. we trump it by finding RVN. And you think, well …. at least that’s the worst appointment I’ll ever see in my last remaining years.  And then, over the hill ……. comes Russell F Martin 😞😞😞

Robins failed and civ and only just kept Stoke up after his assistant went. For Luton Edwards or the new guy?

Im not sure Dyche would work here given the club have spent so long chasing tippy tappy. Admittedly out of all the options he seems better.

Robins is one for longer term. He has built well at Coventry. I like Rob Edwards and don't know what happened this season but liked his demeanour and approach last season.

Most of those managers have been managing longer than Ruud so hardly a fair comparison

Right. And?

Apart from Rohl who we probably wouldn't get due to us having no money and a point deduction hanging over us and Dyche but is a bit of a dinosaur now they have hardly done anything note worthy or wouldn't be in the mix anyway

They were just off the top of my head. Think of how many out of work managers there are. So so many, which want to get back in. Probably 70-80% of them are better managers than Ruud. He’s been truly awful. Awful.

I don't get how Martin is a better manager, he is weak as piss

Would probably prefer Dyche to keeping Ruud or going for Martin

Would prefer MANY other managers to all 3 of them

I just can't get past the absolute shite that we have seen from Ruud this season to think he deserves a go at the summer and start of next season (just for him to inevitably get sacked around November time anyway)

With this morning’s shitshow news, it’s probably become even more important that we need to rely on our younger talent next season.

If that’s Ruud’s number one vision, then as shit as it may sound, you can make a case for him staying.

If he goes, then you need another manager who is willing to focus on the youth.

Potential candidates for that though are pure and utter gambles, you’re probably looking at the likes of Cleverley, Selles or trying to get Muslic out of Plymouth if we can afford to.

I really do look at stats. But, you are right Martin probably is weak. It’s. Just Ruud is so bad, that even other bad managers are better than Ruud 😂

My father-in-law supports Saints, so I’ve sat through a few games with him, and I can honestly say Russball is the worst kind of football I’ve ever seen. Yes, even worse than Cooper’s no-tactics-at-all approach and RVN’s ‘**** knows what that was’ setup.
Russball is endless sideways passing at the back to pad possession stats, while the opposition just sits, waits, and picks you off the moment the defenders inevitably **** about with it at the back  and hand the opposition a goal on a plate.

Fair comment. Let’s hope it’s not him then!

Hated Ruud all season but he’s thick skinned so I commend him for sticking around.

Back him get the kids back and start to rebuild
