Our transfer record over the last 5 years has been abysmal. Even since Glover has come in we've signed Souttar, Coady, Skipp, Okoli, Kristiansen for around £70mil. It just awful and something needs to change fast about the amount we are spending and the quality of players we are bringing in otherwise we are going to be in a right mess very soon (if we are not already in one).

Same the other way, instead of getting rid of squad players, we keep getting rid of our best players.

3/4s of our recruitment in has been bench warmers at other teams.

How are teams like Brighton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Brentford finding players to keep them mid table and above.

All appear to have adopted strong statistical modelling for their player recruitment. Add in the fact that aside from Fulham who seem to be going down the route of becoming an Arsenal B Team; because the signings are based on identifying talent in markets others aren't fishing in, typically their signings initially are relatively low key/low cost until they make a name for themselves. Therefore, whilst they are inevitably seeing good returns, there will be many that don't make the grade but because of their low profile you'll never hear of them and from the outside looking in they appear to have a high success rate.

Mr Glover needs to be busier than Santa over Christmas!

It will be too late then. he needs to have been busy since August. His role is surely to identify targets others do the legal contract work etc.

We need 4 players in in the first week of January but we all know we won't and we'll be dithering around until the final week and end up with one signing on loan.

Don't be held to ransom. Give firm deadlines for decisions to sign and if they don't make it then move on quickly. We don't have time to waste.

Maybe it isn’t on the recruitment team, but the people holding the purse strings to spend money?

We’ve only got to look at Lookman, which was a no brainer at £12m, when you consider what we spent on others.

Honestly, the signings we did make take the limelight when it comes to how poor our recruitment has been but this is THE standout example of just how slapdash and scattergun our approach has been for multiple windows now.

We shirked at the 12 million that allowed us to cover both flanks and an option through the middle on a single British player with a clear high ceiling. One of the decisions which moved us nicely head long into the situation we find ourselves in with J.Ayew starting Premier League games for us out wide.

Sheer incompetence and arrogance - "we'll be alright if we do the bare minimum" attitude on display far too often from the heirarchy.

Sack them all and bring back Steve Walsh at any cost....if Rudkin can swallow his pride

Rudkin wouldn't need to swallow his pride as he'd be included in your initial point of "sack them all".

Hard to judge the recruitment team, the one time we’ve had a gaffer who’s happy to take chances on young players from foreign leagues the recruitment team sign talents like (Fatawu and Mads) how much is the recruitment team or the management in place? They can only make suggestions after all.

On the button. The club is ran in such a mixed up way that it’s not clear in the slightest. Allows people to hide from responsibility

We have been in the Premier League for a decade and have ended up with this squad. Even more remarkably, most of our better players were signed outside of the division (Vardy, Hermansen, Winks, Fatawu).

Maybe Top and rudkin are better off improving their recruiting network. It can't be that hard to find players that are better then what we got?

Surely bargains are out there to be found if we work to a known budget and look in the right areas

Shields is credited for helping Southampton sign City pair Juan Larios and Samuel Edozie this summer, as well as Ainsley Maitland-Niles of Arsenal and Rangers’ Joe Aribo. A deal was already in place for Romeo Laviato join the club from City, although it is accepted Shields played an influential role behind the scenes.

Pep actually credited Shields taking them all from City

Couldn't afford to get him due to FFP.  We needed a defender to replace Ffona, sadly we still do

People over-worry about FFP.  Losing 6 points is nothing compared to the gain you can make with a decent signing.
