If my employer offered me a wage that paid five times what I'm worth, I wouldn't turn it down either. You've always been a charlatan 1

He'll go on a free in the summer but will never earn a fraction of what he's earned here, his confidence must be utterly destroyed and nobody in the top two divisions with either ambition or sanity touches him with a shitty stick. I honestly wouldn't be that surprised if he retired. I'm sure he can afford to. Maybe get a job as a lifeguard. No that's a bad idea, he doesn't dive until it's too late. 1

Benji Posted 26 December 2024 Posted 26 December 2024 (edited) No point rushing anyone back from a knock or injury for this when we know it’s going to be a drubbing. Edited 26 December 2024 by Benji
Wycombe Fox Posted 26 December 2024 Posted 26 December 2024 The odds at Betfred are crazy; City win 28/1 City to win 1-0 80/1 Liverpool to win 10-0 150/1
gerblod Posted 26 December 2024 Posted 26 December 2024 Just when you actually want United to win, Fernandes gets the red and Wolves are dominating.

He's not good enough to be a Premier League goalkeeper, but wasn't even bought as first choice. Schmeichel pretty much had that position in the bank when Ward signed and we just signed the latter as cover and for lower key cup matches. He actually did pretty well for a time in that position and I'm old enough to remember fans singing his name after penalty shootouts. Where it went wrong was when Schmeichel left and Ward was the only GK left. I doubt many GKs in the Prem would step up well if asked to go from occasional cup player and usual bench warmer to effectively first name on the teamsheet. He had an absolutely abysmal season, his confidence was destroyed and Maresca didn't even trust him for EFL Cup games against Burton and Tranmere. Dropping down a division, after being heavily blamed for that relegation, and then going from first to third choice overnight must have been brutal. 1

jonny_wright Posted 26 December 2024 Posted 26 December 2024 I’m already Ruud out, we’re rubbish I know - but he’s not even playing his best 11 available - woeful vs wolves and changes just the keeper and winks, with Vardy enforced he was happy with that defensive performance? He deserves a spanking
ARM1968 Posted 26 December 2024 Posted 26 December 2024 I think I’m ahead of you lot on this one. Far too much realism in here. Not enough alcohol fuelled bravado. We’re only just going to win this one 1-2. Relax. Been speaking to my mates Jack and Jim.
