I've been to Everton today for a work conference. It really drove home the shit show we are.

This club was dodging spending rules and on the pitch struggles.

They got a new CEO and brand new leadership team when new owners came in and they're now growing. In his words 'we are revenue obsessed and because of that we can invest on the pitch'.

Central to this is the new stadium. It's incredible and I couldn't help but think about what could have been when I saw the blue seats. Quite fitting when you think about how faded our seats are! They spent £800m on the stadium. It's not a year old and they will spend £8m on growing more premium spaces. Not boxes....but bars and nice settings for normal fans who just want a nice place to have a beer and a better experience. I can't remember the kast time the KP even got a lick of paint!

The CEO was incredibly impressive and talked about how he engages with fan groups.

One great point is that he thinks it's better to have fans who have been to at least 1 away game a season rather than 3k that go to every away game. So for the best interests of long term fan growth he's changing their away priority scheme. (Get younger people obsessed with being a fan and we will grow).

Got an obligatory picture of KDHs shirt in the dressing room. Good on him for getting out of this shit shower.

Final interesting point is how obsessed they are with data. It underpins their decisions. I have it on good authority that LCFC engaged with a business that is famous for data work and they couldn't grasp the basics and so binned off the idea.

This fits.  I have a friend who used to work in telecoms and they were in discussions with the club soon after KP took over with a view to implementing a state-of-the-art system.  He said the leadership didn’t understand what was being offered so nothing came of it.

I was thinking today that the story has changed dramatically. The story was how Leicester City won the Premier League, everybody talked about it.

The story has now changed, it will now be the King Power story that people start to talk about.

How they came into football, how we got promoted with the controversy of FFP way back then, it was brushed under the carpet. I suppose that was an indication of what would come and bite us one day.

That was quickly forgotten as the great escape happened, the trophies, yes the trophies. Leicester City actually winning major trophies, the tragedy of the owner, the demise to league one, the demise of the business in Thailand, the FFP issues.

For sure the talk will be wider now than just the Premier League win 10 years ago.

For me I have two thoughts, the first is that this story isn’t over yet and I really do have concerns as I don’t think we have bottomed out yet.

But I suppose I haven’t taken the demise as bad as others. I said a few years ago that we won the Premier League, the FA Cup, played in Europe and I said back then that if it all came to a sudden crash I’d be fine as my football goals had been met.

You could tell when Brendan wasn’t happy that it was all about to unfold, maybe more than I thought it would, but relegations and selling of players didn’t hit me as hard as it used to as I’d got the wins I never dreamt I had.

It’s an absolute mess now, carnage, there is more to come, there won’t be any bailout available. The future looks grim, the story continues and it will now become the King Power story that is talked about.

But I’m happy they turned up and we had those amazing times that would never have been possible.

Back the lads

Booing doesn't solve anything

I'm a go to the games, back the lads, as are a few i meet there but the players are not earning their money. The hierarchy isn't earning their money. Top should be able to not over input into the running of LCFC. Thats where the problem is. Tops reluctance to hire and fire those he charges to run his club. 100's millions down he must see the problem.

We want to go watch us play. We do not clap the players. We will not support KP until things drastically change. It is possible to watch players not earning their wages and have the Saturday out also. Logically we can see the problem so it's not a surprise we lose constantly, therefore it's not hugely upsetting more bewildering.

LCFC will carry on this way until it can't and then it will change. The asset loss, the financial loss, the bad feeling will force the change. This horrible decline will carry on until it doesn't.

The latest moon mission was forced by serious Chinese competition, not to better mankind. And so to KP will get out of LCFC when it is financially forced out, not for the fans sake.

We will be there tonight, with 1000's of other fans, when really we know that the stands should be completely empty. But we are fans and fans will want to watch their football team play. And the KP regime will not force us to dislike LCFC.

Back the millionaire grifters who have just achieved the worst season in the entire clubs history?

Get some self respect

How much effort have the 'lads' put in this season?  20 Minutes when it was too late?

I swear if Harry Winks got the club badge and shat on it in the centre circle, some of the KPFC fans would says we should 'back im, good ol winkseh'

I'm against incompetence and planned failure.

Back the ones who deserve to be backed.

Yes, it does. That's why the interjection "boo" exists; first cited in 1639.

Sarcasm is even older, and I take it that's what you did here. :D

Confirmed

Half of the Facebook KPFC fans aren’t all there

Had several long interactions with a guy this week. He’s vehemently anti Foxes Trust, anti anti King Power. It’s been toing and froing all week long

Just posted something sarcastic on one of the groups about the non stop wall of noise created by those ‘backing the lads’ tonight. The first person to ‘love’ my status is this same guy

I'm not even sure I was abusive. One of the old hags on there clearly didn't approve of my posts.

Julie or Jo is my guess. Not a proper fan unless you have supported them since 1912.

Thought McCarron sitting on the front row felt rather staged/symbolic. Just shows how much Tony must obsess over the comments on here.
