Hayley Williams has gone full 90s grunge/alt-rock with her new song 'Mirtazapine' and I love it. Not on streaming yet as she's released it to support public radio in the US, but can listen here:

Not too keen on the new Wolf Alice album, feels overproduced and the rest of the band cut out a lot, seems like a solo album for Ellie. Couple of great tracks in White Horses and The Sofa, has a 70s California feel, Karen Carpenter-esque in places, not the best after a 4 year wait.

There are a few fantastic tracks on there. The three singles, play it out, bread butter tea sugar all stand out for me. But a few of the others all sound very similar. I guess I’m missing a bit of variation. Not a bad album at all, but it’s nowhere near as good as Blue Weekend.

I think that I would appreciate it far more if I'd never heard Blue Weekend. That last album could never be bettered. My favourite of the decade. Stunning.

I am enjoying The Clearing though. Usually best played late at night.

Split Enz touring in New Zealand, celebrating the band's 50th anniversary:

If you don't know Split Enz, shame on you. Precursor to Crowded House, and with some odd similarities to Oingo Boingo (Danny Elfman's first band).

Neil Finn's a fantastic songwriter, and his son Liam's not bad, either.

Tron: Aries approaching, and so is the soundtrack feat. NIN:

Man, I've really lost touch with Trent. Had no idea he'd done the soundtrack for this. Was a time when I was pretty obsessed with NIN.

Nice to hear some new stuff.

This one is brilliant.
