Reform internally imploding. So much for their great electoral challenge

When two of your five MPs are at each other and the wife of your 3rd MP is taking the urine out of your best performer in Westminster, that's an internal implosion being played out. That's 3 out of 5 MPs playing it out publicly.

Public opinion on Farage has dipped over the last couple of weeks - https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/51739-how-have-recent-developments-in-ukraine-affected-favourability-ratings

Starmer is outperforming on Farage on favourability which is a stark change

Keeps Reform in the news.

I don’t think it’s an implosion, as much as you’d probably love it to be.

Starmer has increased popularity slightly because of the defence spending increase and taking it out of the foreign aid pot.

And the polls/opinion stuff are always accurate aren’t they ;)

When 60% of your MP base is arguing, it's bad for press. If Lowe leaves the party, I think that's a real issue for Reform in any plans of creating something which looks electable across the country. He's the nearest thing to a proper politician they have. It would be the second of the high profile personalities that Farage has seen off.

Exactly Starmer's popularity has increased because of sensible decisions and good diplomacy.

The polls aren't always accurate I don't doubt that - but its the comparison of the last two months which is telling.

Btw was talking to a mate this week about the changes to the nursery free hours. A real canny use of policy and joined up thinking.

30 hours of free childcare - get people working more/earlier and all of the knock-on's of that.

Aye, but what has that come off the back of? Pressure from Trump and a quick decision to momentarily please the majority in this country who did not vote for him.

What’s happening in the public eye and what’s really going on are generally two different things. They’ll be fine.

Generally how good politics works - good to have a PM who is being pragmatic in decision making and listening.

They tend to be except when Trump is directly involved, which is odd.

In any case, it's way too early to tell how this will affect Reform going into election season in four years time, so much can happen between now and then.

NB. WRT the farmers, I wonder if the help Reform would give them would include mitigation and prevention measures for the increasing incidents of extreme weather that I hear about causing massive problems from those same farmers on Countryfile every week.

The UK and France can be bullied with nukes. They have 5000 we have combined about 300, so they could inflict a lot more damage than we could if it was truly a race to the end.

If the target is Russia then I would suggest that hitting Moscow and St Petersburg would be enough.

“We must force Russia to peace” is not a viable strategy anymore. Trump will just keep turning the screw with those sorts of statements.

Well that assumes that Trump’s strategy is viable in the long term too.

Farage's fellow Reform MPs would be mad to try and topple him. I can't stand the bloke but he's clearly got an appeal to a part of the electorate that others on the populist right don't have. His successors after he left UKIP were either ruddy faced mustard trouser wearing aristocrats who wanted to bring back the British Raj or skinheads flirting with Tommy Robinson. I reckon Farage's appeal tops out at about 25% of voters but that's well above what Rupert Lowe or any of those other goons would manage.

I think peace is always worth a go. It’s  peace, continual death or an attempt at peace with a continuation of death if it doesn’t hold.

I agree that peace is always worth a go, I just don’t see how peace can endure by giving away most of your negotiating strengths to an aggressor state. Not to mention encouraging others to act in a similar manner.

To clarify...

40% of Reform's MPs are a danger to women.

20% of Reform MPs have had three party affiliations in eight years.

20% of Reform MPs are essentially an agent of Putin.

20% of Reform MPs rail against green energy while investing in it.

Going well, isn't it?
