This “NG” for Cardiff is one of the worst players I’ve ever seen

Wasn't he in the team of the season last year?

Subbed off. Struggled tonight but wasn’t bad by any means. Looked like he wasn’t 100% fit either.

Cardiff have so many players that just make the wrong pass every single time or hold onto the ball too long, it’s infuriating to watch even as a neutral

Hasn’t really had any of the ball tonight. A few bright moments.

Was a few times he looked like he was holding back when he could’ve ran into space.

He's having he's first taste of senior football at a reasonable high level, in a poor team.

The likes of Barnes and KDH both had a good experience at L1 level before being sent the championship.

I think it will hold him in go stead for the future.

Most important thing for him is he’s simply playing games.

Been kinda shocked at how dire Cardiff are. Seriously poor side.. anddd now they’ve bottled it 2-1 Luton.

Doesn’t look match fit.

He's not. A few games post having a serious injury doesn't get him fit.

The experience is the main thing. He'll thrive in a team that has most of the ball so we should be good next season. Get him into the flow of a game.

Playing with players whose livelihood  depends on how they do will be of great benefit

Not really the case in the championship though. The average wage has sky rocketed and there's lots of players earning a £m+ every year. Even Cardiff will have several players earning that much so don't think it's such an issue.

Thought he would absolutely rip it up at this level.

He hasn't started that many games and when he had, for the most part, has had Cardiff fans raving about him.

Most likely just getting back up to speed, he will be class at this level no doubt.

Bit of a reality check I think for those that thought he'd save us this season. I think he's still on the path to our first XI but mainly because our level has dipped dramatically in the last couple of years.

I can see him as an option off the bench next season and a few goal contributions here and there, I think expecting more than that people will be disappointed.

Aye but they're continually trying to earn a new contract and have families to support with mortgages etc.  It's a totally different world to playing for the U21s

Is his best position on the wing. Maybe with greater fitness and acclimatisation to professional football will see him more involved centrally where he will see the ball more and can contribute more.

Playing on the wing is a good place to achieve this.

Have to agree - there is just too much hype, he's come back from a massive injury and I'm surprised he hasn't kicked on more at Cardiff. He needs to try and stay fit and play more than 3 games at a time without getting knocks, too fragile and that league is unforgiving. Players with natural talent shine even in poor teams - thinking back to Dele Ali at MKD and Bellingham at Birmingham

But last season our two brightest players had the starting winger spots locked down and that's likely to be the case again next season. He's going to have to go some to force in front of Fatawu and Mavididi/A.Nother.

Hmm I'm suggesting he's probably more of a central player than a winger but just playing on the wing for Cardiff due to inexperience and match fitness.

He’s started three games and set up a nailed on goal. If he hadn’t have been injured he’d probably have a few more goal contributions by now - in a poor side too.

Your two examples are a little extreme, Alli went onto score 18 goals in one season in the prem and was rated over £100m at 21 and Bellingham sold for 100m plus with add ons at 19.

I don’t think a 19 year old coming back from a serious injury that kept him out for 255 days and hadn’t played any league football before his loan is quite on the same trajectory.

I'm not quite sure what people were expecting here, personally I have been pleasantly surprised so far, based on (very) limited viewing, game time, ratings and cardiff fans comments
