werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 This is a point that has been raised on the fox site. We are now exactly half way through the season. 23 games played and we have only 25 points. Gillingham were relegated last year with a total of 50 points. Anyone else, even you positive/naive foxes out there slightly worried????? I can see at least 6 or 7 games where we will definitely get nothing!! Readingx2, wolves, then aways at palace, norwich, southampton, qpr. That would leave us needing AT LEAST 25 points from about 15 games. I just hope all the levein supporters are right come the end of the season. I really do Leicester vs Millwall 26-12-2005 Reading vs Leicester 28-12-2005 Leicester vs Norwich 31-12-2005 C Palace vs Leicester 02-01-2006 English FA Cup Leicester vs Tottenham 08-01-2006 Sheff Wed vs Leicester 14-01-2006 Leicester vs Cardiff 21-01-2006 QPR vs Leicester 31-01-2006 Leicester vs Wolves 04-02-2006 Brighton vs Leicester 11-02-2006 Leicester vs Derby 14-02-2006 Leicester vs Leeds 18-02-2006 Ipswich vs Leicester 25-02-2006 Leicester vs Hull City 04-03-2006 Luton vs Leicester 11-03-2006 Millwall vs Leicester 18-03-2006 Leicester vs Reading 25-03-2006 Norwich vs Leicester 01-04-2006 Leicester vs C Palace 08-04-2006 Leicester vs Preston 15-04-2006 Coventry vs Leicester 17-04-2006 Leicester vs Plymouth 22-04-2006 Southampton vs Leicester 30-04-2006

City Fan Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Yeah we will probably beat Reading away and then lose to Plymouth at home knowing Leicester.
Ric Flair Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 As i've said before it's all about improvement. If we finish on 50 points then we obviously haven't improved upon last season infact we will of got worse and I won't continue to support Levein. But i'm willing to give him anough time to improve us and continue his game plan which I like the sound of. Obviously that scenario listed is scary, but so is getting rid of Levein now and upsetting the new players he's bought and then getting a new manager to come in quickly settle everything down and get the players working for him. Chances are a new manager who comes in would want to bring new players in so the current batch will know deep down that some will be got rid of and their motivation to play will be extremely low and we'd have an even bigger battle on our hands ala Forest last season under the guidance of a manager many fans wanted here to replace Adams. Getting rid of Levein now is a bigger risk than letting him continue to manage us for the forseable future, anybody who contests that i'd be interested to read a dossier on how a new manager could make things better pretty instantly, there's a very small margin for error given the precarious position we are in.
Dr The Singh Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Anything is possible with this city team, but city are not too good to go down, it's points that counts and I think with a couple of fresh faces and a bit of luck we will get more thasn enough!!!
Katy Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 I am a little concerned yes but something inside tells me we will be ok

The games you see us getting nothing are just the sort where we'll get something. It's the ones we expect to win that have me worried because we've underperformed so often this season (QPR, Crewe, Preston etc). For all that I think you are worrying for nothing. Not because it cannot happen. But because, unlike other teams down among the dead men, we've already got a small cushion, we've already got a team that can dominate even decent sides (it's the winning bit that's been missing) and we have the modest means to improve our potency in January. My lasting concerns about Leicester are on the coaching side. It's nothing against the guys we have in place cos there's plenty we do well, especially our collective workrate and systematic covering. It's down to the little things I've mentioned before - those corners and free kicks, the making of space, the passing and moving. Occasionally I think progress has been made but then, a week later to spark has died. We have to score our share from these situations and we have to work on improving our strike ratio - not occasionally but constantly and in extra training time if necessary. If it requires more hands to the pump then it'll be money well spent. Believe me, the problems I mentioned run right through the club. The Reseves and the Academy teams have exactly the same shortcomings. And if I were the manager I would sort it PDQ. In fact I wouldn't have left it this long.
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 21 December 2005 Author Posted 21 December 2005 Thracian - You dont see my logic???? er...my logic is that if we achieve the same points in the 2nd half of the season WE WILL BE RELEGATED. The games i see us getting nothing, i am sure we will get exactly that. Where this conception comes from that we beat the good sides and struggle against the lower sides is ABSOLUTE BOLLOX. we struggle against ALL teams-that is the problem my friend! Just because we beat sheff utd (a complete one off against a side in a bit of a mess with the warnock saga) doesnt mean we will beat reading and the likes. i dont know how you arent worried??!! we are relegation fodder. end of story. i just hope im wrong but every draw or loss edges us ever closer

l444ry Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 You can't see us gettign anything against norwich? Due to the fact that Norwich are top of the "shots in a match" statistics that people keep throwing about here, could well be a 0-0 draw!!

werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 21 December 2005 Author Posted 21 December 2005 You can't see us gettign anything against norwich? to be honest mate- NO. Norwich are more capable of winning games than we are at the minute. im just really REALLY worried that we arent going to achieve enough points in the 2nd half of the season. Lets just see, another 2 games without a win i think a few more of you will begin to realise that we may well be relegated.
City_4_Life Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 On paper we should win most of them games, and i think we will But as they say football aint played on paper
adam Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Norwich have a far better team than us. They actually have some half decent forwards
werestandingup_weresittingdown Posted 21 December 2005 Author Posted 21 December 2005 why should we even win them on paper???? Do you seriously think that we will win most of the matches we have left??
filbertway Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 Maybe in after chrsitmas things may suddeny start to click we keep clean sheets we start scoring more of our chances Who knows we might go onto win 15 games and get 45 points
City_4_Life Posted 21 December 2005 Posted 21 December 2005 why should we even win them on paper???? Do you seriously think that we will win most of the matches we have left?? Yeh i think we will, well we have a good enough squad to anyway And even if we dont i think we will win enough matches to stay up Also bringing in a decent striker in january will help us alot to win games because we are making the chances but no one is taking them
