I really can't see us getting Fabregas from Como

Probably fight with Southampton to get Rohl

And if we lose that fight we will then probably end up with Martin

Let’s hope not…

I like the idea of having Rohl.

Sheffield Wednesday were as good as gone when he took over, and with appalling Wednesday owners he managed to save them in style and now make them a mid table championship team.

He'd be ideal for us working with what he's got more than choosing what he wants, as unfortunately I think our board will remain brain dead for this summer transfer business

He's worked under some good managers in Germany as well.

Say what you will about the Red Bull setup, but they know how to run a club and his time with Leipzig, as well as at Bayern, is promising.

It would mean the slightly depressing scenario of me being older than the manager, never mind the players, but I'd take it.

Fabregas

Poor man's Rodgers, Rohl apparently can't sign players, which sounds just what we need......Fabregas is only in the frame because he's Fabregas. Another RVN appointment. The owners at Como are proper minted, and it's not a hard sell to encourage players to move to Como, so it's hard to read into anyone doing well there. The sad thing is it's totally believable that those are the top 3 choices for Top/Rudkin.

Andy Cole or Dwight Yorke would be my predictions. Maybe Matt Le Tissier.

Only in the unlikely event of RVN leaving of course. I feel like a narrow defeat to the champions elect will buy him another 5 or 6 months

Will be the cheap option so it’ll be Russell Martin. Theres no way they will be paying money to get a manager from another club. The Board have zero imagination whatsoever

According to Grok...

Sheffield Wednesday fans' dissatisfaction with manager Danny Röhl stems from several issues highlighted in recent reports and social media sentiment, though the extent and reasons vary among supporters. Here are the primary factors:

Poor Recent Form and Home Performances: The team has struggled with a string of disappointing results, including a 2-0 loss to Stoke City and a 1-0 defeat to Oxford United at home, extending their wait for a Hillsborough victory since New Year's Day. Fans have expressed frustration over the team's inability to convert dominant performances into wins, with a notable failure to score from 22 shots against Coventry City. The fourth-worst defensive record in the Championship and a run of five games without a win have further fueled discontent.

Tactical and Recruitment Criticism: Some fans and observers have questioned Röhl's tactical approach, accusing him of being overly rigid with his high-pressing, attacking style, which they argue doesn't suit the current squad. Recruitment in the summer and January transfer windows has been labeled "awful" by certain supporters, with the team failing to address defensive weaknesses. Röhl's squad rotation has also been criticized for disrupting player confidence and cohesion.

Speculation Over Röhl's Commitment: Rumors linking Röhl to Southampton, particularly since November 2024, have led some fans to believe he has "half a foot out the door," potentially affecting player focus and team morale. This perception was exacerbated by reports of a possible move to the Premier League club, though Röhl has publicly dismissed these as distractions.

Off-Field Issues Amplify Frustration: The ongoing unrest with owner Dejphon Chansiri, including unpaid players and staff due to cashflow issues, has created a tense atmosphere. While much of the fanbase directs their anger at Chansiri—evidenced by protests and fans turning their backs during matches—some criticism has spilled over to Röhl for failing to maintain momentum amid these challenges.

However, it's worth noting that not all fans are unhappy with Röhl. Many still view him favorably for his remarkable turnaround in the 2023/24 season, securing Championship survival, and his connection with the fanbase, often praising their "unbelievable" support. Some argue the current squad lacks the quality to execute his vision, and the broader issues with ownership overshadow his efforts. The sentiment is mixed, with frustration largely driven by recent results and external pressures rather than a complete rejection of Röhl's leadership.

For context, these observations are drawn from recent analyses and posts on X, reflecting the mood as of April 2025.

Brian Barry-Murphy til the end of the season

Didn't he get Rochdale relegated in his only professional job? He did very well either the Man City youth side so might have some player contacts.

RVN did a decent job with PSV as well.

It would be a risk.

He's doing a great job at Como, but again, their owners have really deep pockets, and convincing signings to go to live in Como is not a hard sell so I'm not sure how much should be read into it. It would be good to see him do well at another club first. As you say it's probably irrelevant anyway as he's unlikely to leave Como in Serie A to move to us in the Championship.

I honestly don’t know where we go from here. RVN doesn’t have a break clause in his contract (are we surprised) so if we don’t want rid, it’s probably going to cost us. And then who’s the next best option? Next year is going to be painful after the EFL have completed ****ed us

Not sure if he’s been mentioned but Will Still?

He picks nothing but old players and sidelines youth, like he's done at wednesday this season

They have the oldest average age team in the division and Rohl was given £5m to spend.

I don't know much about his Rochdale stint tbh, only that he had among the lowest market value teams in the league (i.e. shite players) for both of his seasons there

Historically they've bounced between League 1/third division and League 2/fourth division a lot and they've since been relegated to the Vanarama so it doesn't seem to me like he was underperforming

Either way, if Ruud walks/is sacked then BBM's the most realistic internal candidate for the rest of the season

If it was me making the decision, I would listen to what Sheffield Wednesday fans think of him. It’s the most accurate indicator of how we’ll feel about him, and when all is said and done that’s all that will matter. If he’s as hated as Puel or Rodgers, for example, it won’t matter what the results are or what league we are in. People will stop caring.

I don’t know why I’m even taking an interest myself as I just know it’s going to be Martin.

Yep. Or Marco Rose…

After Dortmund and Leipzig, you'd think he would walk into a decent Bundesliga job. Hassenhüttl is apparently on the brink at Wolfsburg and they're a more attractive prospect than us in the Championship, you would think.

I'd take him, but not sure it'd be reciprocated.

The only thing that saves us from Martin is if a CFG club want him.
