People moaning about not being able to give tickets to their mates/family etc. Completely understandable but I’ve said it before, if anything, it’s become a lot easier to transfer tickets.

Add the ticket to your wallet

Press the little Information icon in the bottom right

Scroll down to find the barcode

Screenshot said Barcode

Send the Barcode to your mate/family etc

All the ticket scanner needs is a barcode. You don’t even have to meet the person to hand the season ticket over and back

It won’t be like that once they get everyone using them. Give it time they may be crsp at transfers but they’re not stupid at making life difficult for fans

Only way they could do that is by changing the barcodes every couple of minutes. Demand for seats won’t be enough for them to do that. Unless the club are seriously stupid (LOL) they wouldn’t even think about it

Aren’t there two systems the one we’re using and a more sophisticated secure one they can switch to according to previous posts on here.

Excuse the hyperbole but there is not a single tyrannical government in history that didn't claim that by giving it up just a few more rights, the citizen would benefit.

Though less serious of course, this is the direction of "the digital cage" as another forum member quite rightly put it.

How long before face recognition technology in stadium?

How long before AI, under some bogus national security act, can scan financial activities on bank accounts?  Might they deduce that because you spend money on football, beer and donations to certain political causes that you should be on a watch list as you are deemed as a character that may more likely join an anti government protest?

"Your honour, the defendant has clearly displayed a pattern of poor behaviour, not only does his internet history show viewings of Andrew Tate videos but we can clearly see the individual, using face recognition software, chanting slogans with a pumped fist at football stadiums around Britain whilst his digital transactions show frequent alcoholic purchases...."

Laugh at me all you like.

Always screen shot my ticket to use on the day so not wafting my phone around trying to get a signal to open Google wallet again at the turnstile. I'm sure this will be made impossible soon enough for security. Surprised not done by now.

Not that I agree with digital tickets but reading that people still think they need wifi or any signal to open google/Apple wallet is now becoming laughable..

No it’s the same system it is whether they turn on static as is the case now or dynamic as some other clubs currently apply. Dynamic updates codes every 25 seconds so make sharing outside the technology difficult. Inside the technology is simple but they can restrict the number and types of movement per season 5 transfers 5 resales for example.

That sounds like two systems to me although perhaps I should have said options.

Facial recognition technology on the way - then they’ll have us…

At Brentford you can lose your season ticket if you dont go sufficient times - st holders regularly offer up their seats to the likes of me to avoid a yellow card…

Whats Jim Donnelly's email?

Just rang up and said I'm not renewing as I cant transfer the ticket between me and my brother, the bloke on the phone just was silent and said....anything else today? Sums up the club, their client facing roles at the ticket office are a shambles.

So this 100% works? As it's the difference between renewing or not.

They do that at a lot of clubs. I know people who have missed a couple Leeds games and being threatened with their ST being removed. Funny though because they don't remember it was the same people going every week when the ground wasn't full.

Arsenal are the same. Any club will do it if there is demand for tickets.

Can't see us having that problem anytime soon!

I mean at least you’ve not announced it globally so the club can’t see.

In truth telling the staff on the phones wont get much of a reaction.  Its just a job for them (not saying thats the best attitude but im sure we have all done jobs where it is just a job for us).  They aren't the people that matter, and possibly aren't even "football people".  Its only when the renewal figures reach management /exec level and there is a noticeable drop in renewals that it will have any impact or generate a reaction

Exactly this, it’s quite sad that we lost our club to big business and we now face the digital cage being built around us.

For any evangelists that see no wrong with digital ticketing  it won’t be so kind in the future when you can’t make a game due to illness and you have to upload a doctors sick note!

Ha I may jest a little  but they make supporting a club a chore and about as fun as working full time.

Imagine if they do head down the leagues and there’s 10k spare seats, I bet they’ll relax their control grid but then only to tighten it once they get back on track.  It’s ever so predictable.

The only thing in Leicester’s favour is that they’re not clever enough to have implemented this themselves but still they seem to be not pushing back up the chain.

I for one hope PL football bubble bursts sometime soon.  It’s wretched.

For someone that once loved this club, I now have no love left for it nor any big club.

My thoughts exactly, well put.

If they are in the PL they will almost certainly be required to stop ST holders sharing bar codes as the main reason for doing this is to ensure they know who exactly is attending matchers thus ensuring fans with banning orders are not.
