Didn’t he say in the book that he played with a bloke at Weymouth who had a disabled badge for his car?  😂

Another one was when he was responsible for feeding Iwan Roberts' family cat whilst they were away on holiday for a fortnight one summer and Iwan made up that their cat starved to death or something just to get Steve worried, lol!

One of the greatest City moments.

Also one of the most iconic pieces of commentary that encapsulates how as described in the thread time stood still!  And that’s…..

That and many other gems of true tales!

It’s like 300 pages of an X parody account, I’ve not read it for years but I might get another copy and read it again.

He hits top, slightly off centre of his boot near the ankle, semi slicing it, that’s why it had the misleading flight that seemed to take an age.

....hopefully I will have a little message giving the true fact when my window cleaner gets the great man to sign my short for me, lol

I’m sure I’ve heard him say in an interview years later that he wished he never said it as he had done himself an injustice.

Decking the car out with blue and white ribbons for the drive down

The weird little seats like stools

Meeting at the Green Man and having a massive kickabout on King Edward VII park before the game

Having no voice at all the next day

The absolute mental joy when it went in

'HE SHINNED IT!'

I have asked for "i shinned it" or "it was a clean shot"...

Either way, it's an original shirt (not one of those retro ripoffs), so may well make him smile

1996 was such an iconic summer. One of the absolute best.

Absobloodylutely! Great times in the 90’s and 1996 was amazing!
That moment when the ball hit the back of the net will be cherished forever, one of the greatest moments in my life.
