Summer has officially arrived when your flicking between Wimbledon and the TDF

Would love the big 3 to be fighting it out well into the mountains but Pogacar is just on a different level this year.

Vingegaard at least has a couple of his big team mates back so hoping he can hang on.

Le Tour starts tomorrow.

Will Pogacar be challenged at all ?

Nope..

That's that done. Finished after 5 days

Have to agree. Only a serious crash for Pogi will open it up again.

Today Stage 8.

Podacar finished 9 seconds after the leader but on the official classification, it’s says +0 meaning he finished at the same time. Confused!!!!!

Be very disappointing if today's stage doesn't l end in a bunch sprint as the stage is finishing in Cavendish City ( Chateauroux) where Cav won three of his stage wins.

A common tactic used in a sprint bunch finish. It’s to avoid daft tactics within thr last 3k or if a crash occurs no one is overly affected. The top ten get the bonus time which slightly affects the GC

Van der Poel has won a lot of fans on this tour so far

Because he rode for his teammate? Yeah, that's very commendable for sure. Almost pulled it off, but it would've been lucky if he had. If it had been an unknown rider trying to make a mark, then I would've been impressed, but being an extraordinary rider like MvdP, I would've maybe expected him and Rickaerts to complete the triumph with the incredible gap they got from a very passive bunch. But it was a bit of a suicidal attempt.

Wouldn't surprise me if he wins the most combative rider award on the Tour. Certainly been the most animated rider of the Tour so far!. Bit of a scare for Pogacer today with him crashing a few kilometres from the finish but was able to get back to the favourites as they had slowed down for him. Hopefully it won't affect him for tomorrow's stage.

We can safely say it hasn't! What a beast he is. Attacking on Hautacam with 11km to go smells of someone who knows he's far better than anyone else.

Pogacer barring injury and illness will dominate the Tour this year and numerous years after. Its just a question of how many Tours he will win, and whether any other rider outside of Vingegaard can challenge him. Its just total domination.  Ideally you want two or three riders in close contention rather than one rider dominating.

Vingegaard himself is better than all others barring Pogacar. Which just proves the insane level Pogacar is at.

That first year where Pogacar did the impossible and beat Roglic (the TT specialist) to the yellow jersey in a one on one duel was an omen of things to come.

Third place overall and a podium place up for grabs with Evenepoel abandoning early after struggling from the start of the stage,

He had a bad time yesterday so obviously suffering.
