Yes. Because even though they played well, we had absolutely zero creativity and won those games through moments of brilliance from players who SHOULD keep their place, mainly Fatawu. Other than those moments, we didn't create much and that caused us to have to defend as hard as we did.

Is a James more of an attack minded CM than a CAM then? If so that's a bonus. I did notice his tackle stats seemed oddly high for an attacking mid so that makes sense. See how long he lasts having to try and carry Soumare

All round midfielder probably similar to Bilal with Ramsey though it will give us more of an attacking threat as Skipp or Soumare don't offer anything going forward and we don't need two DMs

Agreed, although i'm not sure we have any proper DMs to be fair. We've kind of got 3 Papy Mendy style water carriers.

 

Really excited about James to be fair, seems like an all action type of player. We've been crying out for a player that can put themselves about but also get the ball up the pitch.

 

Trying not to get my hopes up with Ramsey as the knee injury worries me haha. If he stays fit he'll be some player at this level.

That could be the case. I recall this time, last year, many people were putting Edouard in their starting eleven. 
 

I’d like to think that James gets in, but I think Ramsey could be quite raw and it’s a bit of a lottery with Carranza. 
 

IF Winks has stopped sulking I’d be tempted to integrate him into the team. So starting eleven (at this point in time) would be:

 

Jakub

Riccy, Vesty, Okoli, Thomas 

Winks, Soumare (reluctantly)

Fatawu, James, Mavididi (Monga as the impact sub)

Carranza

 

…. and hope that 2 or 3 games in the new signings are proving their worth

but I’d happily have Faes in for okoli winks for soumare and monga for mavs. I’d even understand ayew for carranza if he needs time. Point is we have a few options with these acquisitions in the areas we need them. A few fresh faces can do wonders.
