Well, as the Fosse have just formed, we are in the lower reaches of the Sunday League so I wouldn't be suprised if there are a few crazy buggers around at some games. It's all good though :D Bring them on.

Jean Tigana is the best suggestion I have heard so far, but I am not sure that he has not got a job somehwhere in France?

There is not a great long lost of magers available at the moment.

He only really made one bad buy in Steve Marlet. The only other big signing he made was Van Der Saar who can't be questioned.

Other signings he made were brillient, Saha, Marlbranque being the two best examples.

I also like his style of football and feel that is the way forward.

saying all that Tigana is not exactly the worlds greatest manager, just abetter sugegstion than anything else I have heard.

Yes he made good buys, but they cost millions and millions and millions and millions and millions. We have about £6.50 and a bag of worthies origionals to spend.

In my opinion you need to look for the following things in a new manager (should we need one)...

• Low compensation to current club

• Low wages

• Experience of working on a tight budget

• Success at current or previous clubs

• Two years minimum management experience

and If possible some sort of Leicester connection.

Ha i did think that when i wrote it. He hasn't had much experience but he is certainly made an impression. The problem is people here expect a new manager to come in and will we walk the league, things will take time. I just pray people are more patient and dont boo him after 3 games like this season. When Newell took over luton from memory i think they were shit for quite a while!!!!

I don't think people would boo him if they saw him passionate and trying to change tactics for the better. Also, if he tried to implement a more passing game rather than the one dimensional long ball system, then we would be happier - even if we didn't get off to a great start. I remember when Dave Bassett took over from Plonker Taylor when we were in the Prem. Results weren't very impressive but at least the players showed a fighting attitude and got stuck in.

This is my first post on any messageboard, funny how when you're pissed off you want to express it.

Firstly, it would be good if the board at city could grow a backbone and get rid of micky. It is clear to see he does not possess the qualities of a manager who will take us to where we want to be. In my opinion, everything stems from the boadroom level. Look at Roman Abramovitch. Granted he has shit loads of money, but he realised that Ranieri would not take Chelsea to where they want to be so got rid of him to bring in someone capable of winning the league. Same with Rupert Lowe at Southampton (who has his critics). It was clear to him that Stuart Gray and Paul Sturrock were bad appointments. He could see that the club was going backwards and so got rid of them, replacing Gray with Strachan (who did very well) and we'll wait to see who replaces Sturrock. Either way, he has always attempted to act to stop the rot. The board at Leicester need to act now, particularly after a fantastic set of financial results, which we could only have dreamed about 2 seasons ago.

So all this leads to the key question of who to replace Micky? For the examples mentioned above there are numerous examples of clubs who have appointed bad managers and slipped further.

It's my opinion that we should now be looking to bring in a manager to change things about and start building a team that can go up next season and have a better chance of staying in the premiership. As such, a new manager would have the rest of this season to build and start showing us an improvement and steady rise up the table. But who? Well I've been thinking of ideas, and granted there are not many about but here's my list.

Mike Newell - although I don't think he'd leave Luton seeing as they're doing so well and managers at the start of their career don't seem to change clubs when they haven't been there that long (think he's been there for a season and half)

Martin Allen - did well at Barnet and doing well at Brentford now. Could be someone to reign in the indiscipline

Tony Adams - no-one has suggested him, but I think he has now finally started to learn what management is all about. He couldn't stop a sinking ship in Wycombe last year (although not even Wenger would have). This season, Wycombe are starting to play good football and doing well in the league. Adams is also one of the rare breed of intelligent footballers (admittedly from learning the hard way e.g. drink driving), which is crucial in management. All the top managers are extremely intelligent such as Wenger, the messiah Martin O'Neill, Fergie, Morinho. Plus, he has played under the likes of Wenger and Graham, which would provide good tutelage. The only argument against is whether he would be able to command the respect of the older players, of which we have many. Elliott, for all his service (and big pension creating wages) has been known to cause problems for managers acting as an agent provocateur in the dressing room, stamping his authority, and apparently, Keown and Adams don't get on. It is also unknown how other older players, e.g. Dublin, Wilcox or Dabizas might feel. I must be honest, all the older players I've mentioned, with the exception of maybe Keown have underperformed for us recently, so I wouldn't care if they didn't figure or were released. If Keown and Tony Adams don't get on, then i guess it would have to be bye bye Keown.

Andy King - the Swindon manager has been doing ok for them. By all accounts, they are punching above their weight. That's the sort of manager we need who can turn our average team into one playing above it's level (which currently appears to be a bottom half of the championship level team)

Out of the other managers mentioned, only Strachan would be a good replacement, although I don't think he would come to us.

Sorry for the essay as a first post but wanted to offer some suggestions to the problems our team faces

Out of the managers mentioned I think Megson, Newell, McAllister and Little would all be good. Another name I'd throw into the ring is Eric Black. He had a decent record at Cov and is out of management at the moment (coaching at Brum).

Young and worked many miracles at Donny, taken them from the Conference to League One in 2 seasons.

Good suggestion. He's got Doncaster playing some nice footbll from what I've seen. Not many managers have been able to get a side promoted from the Conference to Division 3, then to Division 2 in consecutive seasons. A certain MON did that with Wycombe.

By the way, great first post, breadandcheese. Some good suggestions there - Not so sure about King at Swindon, he doesn't strike me as someone who could manage a club of this size - He was initially sacked at Swindon a few seasons ago when he wasn't doing too well, but he was re-appointed and doing a sound job now.
