Samilktray Posted 5 February Posted 5 February Why on earth would Gerrard risk his managerial career here. Hes had a crap spell at Villa, a crap spell in Saudi. Not a chance he would take the risk coming here if he’s got his head screwed on 1 1

Popular Post BrilliantFox Posted 5 February Popular Post Posted 5 February Can we please stop bringing up Gerrard, he's crap. There is not much else to say about him. Â We need a manager that will structure the team's shape alongside a solid pressing system. 7

Unless the entire team gets a personality transplant and suddenly goes on a rollicking winning run to fire us to the play-offs, the only outcomes are disappointment, embarrassment or outright catastrophe. We need to write this season off.  And unless we learn from this, we need to write next season off too. Possibly the next five years.  What's needed is Rudkin being removed from daily influence, as he won't be sacked for as long as Aiyawatt has a hole in his arse, the vacancies to be filled with people who understand the game and how to build from **** all and a readjustment.  Above all, the hierarchy needs to understand that we aren't the Leicester City that won the Premier League, FA Cup, were European regulars and were the blueprint for every similar-sized club in the country. We are now Blackburn Rovers with a better academy and training ground. They need to understand that they are as responsible for the decline as they were for the period between Vichai's death and us winning the FA Cup, getting successive top five finishes, smashing the Premier League away win record and a European semi-final in three years. They need to look at what they did between 2018 and May 2021 and contrast it with everything they've done since. Imaginative scouting, a clear identity, succession planning and understanding what we are and have become.  I won't hold my breath, but we quite simply need a project manager who sees the bigger picture. Someone who knows how to work on a budget, how to bring through young players and how to develop a siege mentality. Simple as that really, because the summer rebuild is huge. Massive. We'll need a completely new team. The summer of 2026 will be a crossroads between revival and permanent decline. It is that simple. Edited 5 February by Drain the Swamp 2 3

Spiritwalker Posted 5 February Posted 5 February I’m m pretty sure a lot of Gerard’s success at Rangers was credited to his assistant who is no longer with him.

cruzFOX Posted 5 February Posted 5 February Can we please not mention Russell Martin anymore. The media keeps bringing him up too. The guy is a fraud and a failure everywhere he goes. We seriously need some stability and common sense now. We are in deep poop. Club needs saving than we can re-assess in the summer. If we get lucky again like we did with Enzo I’ll take it but the chances are slim. Just want someone sensible in to get this team going again. 2
