This will never happen, but Thomas has looked good going forward in the last few games and looks as though aluko is also quite attack minded. Get rid of Mavididi and fatawu, play with proper wing backs instead. Bring in an older mature head to play in midfield with page and alves, someone like a matty James type. Bring in a top league 1 forward the likes of Ballard, Wareham or the Tolaj that we are supposedly interested in. Bring in two experienced league 1 CBs who have played well last season. Then we need to ship out anyone who is on more than 30k a year and reset our wage structure.

edit just to add some examples, no I have not watched either of these two play basing solely on who scored ratings and stats. Carl Piergianni - most motm for a cb and highest average rating in the league as well as a massive 7.5 aerials win per 90, awful passing stats though. Put him in the middle alongside Ben Nelson and on the other side Jack Fitzwater - good average rating in the league even in a relegated side but has okay aerials won at 3.1 per 90 but paired with 87% passing accuracy.

Frontline is going to need multiple additions this summer.

3 potential targets I would want are

RW - Amari Cozier-Duberry (Loan)

ST - Chido Obi-Martin (Loan)

LW - Reyes Clearly (£3m)

I just can’t see us spending money on anyone permanent!

do like the list though

Imagine this was the Steve Walsh setup and the Kante, Mahrez, Vardy era. We would get some outrageous hidden gems and could develop them in league one easy.

With James McCarron in place, it would be no surprise if 1-2 signings come in from Man City.

If we get shut of Mavididi, I can see Emilio Lawrence(Currently on loan at Luton) potentially being the replacement.

I see no point in developing other teams players in league 1. Just develop what weve got with quality experience in tha league around them.

Two reasons I’d have for loans this summer-

1- Immediate promotion frees up more funds and loans will go back, meaning either we go up and rebuild in a league with better players available to us, or stay down without the extra finances not tied up

2- We will be able to get better players on loan than permanently, which feeds in to point one, as staying in league one would cripple us

a smaller third reason is also we can get players in that we may then be able to keep, with the added bonus of a trial season

Left him out as I think we need 1 experienced player in the midfield the likes of Oliver Norwood, Matty James etc

Just been named in TOTS for league 2.

I think he one to build the side around, at 22 he is a good age to develop with the side and is coming of the back of a good season.

I was not aware, maybe a midfield 3 of braybrooke, page and an experienced head would fair better then. As it appears that Alves isn't rated by huddersfield.

I think they all need to be given a chance to shine and fight for a place.

Yeah that is fair, but I think if we want to bounce back immediately we are going to need someone in the middle of the park with experience. In fact I think the spine of our team needs to be players who have either got good experience in top teams in league one or have shown quality in the championship at mid to lower end teams but are not necessarily top players in the championship.

lol with our finances, you can guarantee quite a few free transfers and loans will be coming through the door in the summer.

Every team will pick up a few loans in League 1 next season, it’s just natural mate.

Providing Stevenage and Stockport don’t get promoted we should be all over Lewis Freestone and Jack Diamond.

Other realistic options:

Archie Collins DM/CM

Anthony Ralston RB
