They’ll be an element of truth in what was said on the BSLB podcast.

If I hadn’t seen such riches,

I could live with being poor.

Also, if they don’t do anything with the pricing should we get relegated, they’ll just give themselves more grief.

Above is so true.

We reached the heights all clubs dream off.

Played with the big boys and were seen as their own for a while.

It was like Liverpool, man city,Arsenal,Chelsea had a sort of wink at us and said yeah come on you deserve it.

Now we lose to Oxford.....

This thread comforts me and depresses me at the same time...

My scenario; ST's with my dad at filbert Street in the Carling stand I reckon 95-00 (have the old school ticket books somewhere, might check one day) Lots of games as a non ST until around 2008 when we did a half season ST with my sister joining. Dad passed in 2022 so we transferred to my other sister, just to retain - she came the first game after he died but that was first time in about 20 years.. When we had 3 it's always been a rotating cast between the holders and my best mate/other mates and FIL, but they made that too hard this year with the mobile shite so went down to 2.

I'm so torn, I have a nearly 5 year old daughter and just turned 2 year old boy and I've always looked forward to taking them, and ideally sitting in 'our' seats in G1.

But I've not enjoyed going for a long time now, it's purely habit and the emotional connection with my dad.  Plus as someone above said, it's a logistical arse ache to make it to the ground even more so being at best 80 mins drive away. Plus this year I have 3 old ladies in front (they relocated), moaning that I was spoiling it for them by getting pissed off at the shite on display.

I've been 4 times this season (my sister once so that's a £400+ game), the Southampton farce being the first time in 2026 (can't actually remember prior game, def wasn't boxing day as.. **** that).

Got home at midnight after booing them off and immediately tried to see rules around cancelling. Nothing I could find

Which in a very elaborate way leads me to my question; given some seem to have 'cancelled' do I just email them and that's it done I don't have to pay anymore? (Luckily moved to DD last season, assume if you pay up front. You're ****ed) Or did you just mean not auto renewing for the L1 campaign?

Id be so gutted  to see someone else in 'my' seat, let alone not be able to get a ticket, but just can't do it anymore.

I did journeys getting me home at 2/3am to watch us in L1 last time and thought nothing of jt, what a shambles KP have killed that.

Sorry for ramble. Had a dram or 2 this eve.

In answer to your question: I just emailed them and explained why I wanted to cancel and they did, they weren’t remotely arsed.

To reply to your post: I do feel your pain, I’ve posted numerous times over the past few days about my reasonings for cancelling so I won’t bore everyone again. In addition and to link it to your post, my dad (died in 2018, I’m sorry for your loss) took me to my first game at 4 and got me hooked and I passed that on to my daughter. It’s supposed to be a generational thing but these clowns in ‘charge’ are making it really difficult for everyone.

No, they never did that. They were fuming and weirdly united for once in their disgust at what had happened.

We will have attracted a lot of fans over the last 10 years due to what we’d achieved.

When the “product” drops two divisions, they don’t stop liking football, they’ll just go and watch it somewhere else.

It’s a bit like if the Highcross was filled with shops like Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermes, Rolex, Prada, Dior, Cartier, Delvaux etc, then it’s replaced within 2 years by a Poundland, Vape Shop, B&M, Cash Convertors, Home Bargins and the other half is boarded up. It’s not just the people that will stop coming, it’s also the amount of disposable income those people have to buy “tat” like a half and half shirt for £180 with some dodgy King Power gimmick on it, or some King Power Socks for £30.

Great thread, we are not season ticket holders as it’s a 250 mile + round trip for us however we do get to a handful of home games and some more local away games where possible. I have a 16 year old lad who is also an LCFC so the opportunity to go to games has always been special to me as a bit of quality family time and bonding.

We have 3 tickets for the Stoke game and yesterday was chatting with my lad when he let it slip in his own words -

‘Dad I am really not arsed about watching them on Saturday I have never felt so disconnected it doesn’t feel like our club anymore’

I am gutted, not with how he feels, as I completely understand it and I feel the same, but more that Aiyawatt, Rudkin and a lot of the mercenaries that make up our squad have managed to kill his love and enthusiasm for the club. I really hope they wake up and smell the coffee soon before it’s too late, as they are not only at risk of killing our club but in the event it somehow does survive, losing a large proportion of the next generation of LCFC fans 🥲

I've been an STH for the past 25 years. Through a lot of our time in the top flight I almost felt spoilt and that things were a little too good to be true. But this is what being a football fan is ultimately about-the hope that this season will be 'the' season, and I got to experience that. No matter how bad things ultimately get, that can't be taken away.

We've discussed long and hard about renewing/not renewing and gone back and forth a number of times. The day that I give up hope that things will turn around will be the day I don't go anymore...and I don't think that day has been reached. Things might get worse before they get better, we might go down a division or even two. But I still have hope that they eventually will, and for that reason we'll sign up again for next season regardless of how this one finishes. Totally understand and respect those for whom that line has already been crossed, you wouldn't do it lightly.

Thanks for the reply.

Shouldn't be surprised they let you walk away no hassle I guess - works in my favour but you'd think they'd make it harder..

Going to try and get to the protest next week then game as a farewell and email when I get home - let's see if I've got the discipline!
