I've used a very generic phrase there to essentially describe a piece of land where fans would want to hang around and socialise before games. Rather than car parks, disused land and run down areas that exist at present.

I'm sure in the stadium development plans there were areas where people could sit, eat, drink, socialise etc that weren't necessarily formal fan-zones.

The whole area around the ground is a grey, bleak, shit hole at present.

I think we probably just have very different opinions on what makes a matchday fun.

It's an urban area, for a team from the city. The fan zones are what needs improving, we don't need picnic areas that take us even further from the working mans game.

Its something that's in serious consideration, I need to find a new hobby to do on weekends! or find a wife!

I've not enjoyed it for a number of seasons, football in general has lost its magic, it will never be what is was in the 90s/00s. Its too commercialised, every bloody game is moved till 12:30 kick off or some other god forsaken time, I end up running to the game or being late, the traffic in Leicester is awful, public transport awful and expensive. That's before you even get to the club, loyal fans are treated like dirt, you have got happy clappers scowling at you if you dare to criticise anything. Terrible flat atmospheres. A team that doesn't play for the shirt, a style of football that could send insomniacs to sleep for decades. Its getting to the point where its just a waste of petrol as I don't live in Leicester anymore and most family has moved away.

Other than that, it's great eh?!

I had a season ticket since they became available in the Filbo kop, right through to last season, just a two year gap somewhere in the middle when I had to work on Saturdays.

When I emailed to give it up I was genuinely surprised that within a few hours I had a confirmation reply with no questions why, not a phone call, nothing. I wasn't expecting them to beg me to stay😂 but I would have thought that maybe getting the opinions of supporters as they pack it in would be pretty important from a market research point of view?

Again I think this may be symptomatic of the condescending way the club views it's supporters. Unless of course they do have leaving surveys and I was just missed?

That is a surprise seeing as they send emails asking for feedback on each standard matchday.

I gave up attending save for the odd few games every year when I moved away from the city permanently, but it is a travesty reading people's stories of giving up STs after 20, 30, 40 years because of what the current regime has overseen.

I gave mine up half way through maresca after 28 years due to a career change it was a tough choice but glad it happened now forcing me too but really do hope the people who decide to keep it dont pay the high amount for a season ticket they are charging this season it needs heavily reducing whatever league we are in.I'm being offered tickets for 20 pound for certain games which works out cheaper i think anyone thinking of renew please think is it worth it ????

I’ve just added together all the years I’ve had a season ticket taking away the gaps and it comes to 32 years, 18 of those being consecutive. You’re dead right, it is a travesty. Look at what they’re doing to us, we need to be angrier!

I came to the conclusion that I actually don't want to bring my daughter into football when she is old enough so it wasn't a consideration.

There are many better, less toxic, less corporate things to do with kids these days. It's just not the sport that it was when my dad first took me and got me truly hooked.

I have not had that email for the last two games I missed, used to get it every game I didn’t attend.

Maybe they don’t like my feedback, although I know in reality nobody reads it.

I had to give up my ticket due to work the season after the pandemic. I was really surprised how much I didn't miss it. Only thing I missed was not seeing my friend who I used to go with every week.

This is the problem when Premier League clubs start acting like American teams. They start treating fans like customers and you lose that connection.

The biggest problem here is: in America, the team and the customers accept it. Over here the clubs want you to be customers when things are going well, but revert to being fans when it's not going so well.

And as LCFC seem to be finding out, that's not feasible.

Same as me mate! I gave mine up half way through the first drop into the champ......"ok....well do that" after 20 years! When we were muddling around in the champ after coming up from L1 I was allowed to transfer my oldest lads ST to my younger one due to the older one working Saturdays......I have moved out of Leicester now and i'm not sure i'd go now even if i lived their anymore......don't get me wrong i still take an interest but paying for the way the fans are treated is not for me......We play Boro on Tuesday and even though it's the only game up here that i could get to this season i'm not going and only 45 mins down the A1 for me!

Nope, got the same robotic reply despite me explaining why I'd decided to cancel.

I'd be sacked on the spot if I just let a long-serving customer go like that, without even an acknowledgement.

Cancelled mine this week. Feel largely the same. Will still go every now and again but also go and see Harborough Town and a few trips to watch Tigers. Just dont feel anything towards the club anymore.

Why would you cancel it with the season not yet finished?

I know it’s unlikely but what happens if we get a new technical director, a manger we can get behind and we buy some decent players the minute the window opens?

Hard to articulate this, but this has been the most ridiculous club to support for the last 15 years. I’m not saying get behind this owner, but I think giving up your hard earned loyalty (points) isn’t the answer. As much as we want this ownership out, this club seriously wouldn’t surprise you if it flipped on its head  - we’ve been there, we’ve lived it.

I’m sure some will say I’m crazy, fair play I agree. But yeah, this club is even more batshit.

Far and away the most absurd football club to follow the last 40 years.
