The worst thing that could happen to this club is to stay up in the championship but they will do by the skin of their teeth. Do we deserve to ? No

The 2 idiots upstairs need a harsh lesson in league 1

No, the worst thing is that we go down and that puts us in a total financial tailspin. It's not like when going down to L1 last time turned out to be good for us because we'd stagnated and needed a complete reset.

And in the nicest possible way, it's incredibly naive if you think Top and his cronies have the humility to admit they have made mistakes and work on everything they did wrong as a result of dropping to the 3rd tier. If it hasn't happened already, it won't happen in this scenario

Your absolutely right they’ll never admit to any mistakes whatsoever but at least it’ll show the world how useless they are and it’ll bring more misery hopefully  !

Bring on the financial tailspin !!

Last time we got relegated it only turned out good because we appointed Pearson. Without that appointment who knows. A relegation is never good, a reset only works with the right manager.

So we're stuck with:

Stolarczyk
Vieites?
Kristiansen
Thomas
Vestergaard
Souttar
Okoli
Choudhury
Coulibaly
BDCR

Mavididi
Fatawu

Winks

Skipp

Dear me... I hope we can shift most of these on astronomical wages.

Do we know all these have definitely gone? I know their contracts have expired, and we have no money, but....it's Leicester we're talking about! None likely to be offered a contract? Has the club formally said thanks?

Well their contracts have ended so if they stay they'll be technically new signings so 'in'.

Yea but they've physically gone and that's good enough for me.

Why all the nit-picking they've gone be happy. :yahoo:

Are we 100% sure they've actually gone? Feel like I need to see them not at training and working down the car wash or whatever to stop me thinking rudkin is going to come in with a last minute contract offer

I suspect they will and do we know if any psr issues for 25/26 incurs collaboration between championship and league 1 like we saw with the premiership and championship?

The first step for those whose contracts end on 30/6 is the club have the option to offer a new contract which has to be on equal or better terms.

Contracts for those not offered terms or those that choose not to take up any offer will still get a few weeks extra pay post 30/6.

The championship and EFL 1& 2 are effectively all run under the EFL. There are different measures within each league but all rules be it from Championship to 1 or vice versa will be easier to enforce than the Championship to Premier League.

Surely, a new contract does not necessarily mean "equal or better terms" particularly when you consider the season we'v just had.

The first step as I say is that a player , to be retained, has to be offered a contract in equal or better terms if that doesn’t happen then the players status changes from being , initially, retained to being a free agent.
Of course a contract can be offered on worse terms but what happens is that the players status changes negotiates as a free agent .

The Club, with regard to wages, has to cut it's cloth accordingly and to suit the situation we are in, and that is the third tier of the football league.

The players should realise this although many won't be interested in that point of view.

Paying players the high wages they have become used to in League 1 is just not sustainable.

As grim as it sounds I think we are looking at

Out

Fatawu - £10m-15m

Mavididi - £3m-5m (that is being kind I know)

Skipp - £7m-10m

Okoli - £5m-7m

Monga - £6m-10m at most

Woyo - £2m

VK -  £5m-7m - based on contract length - id drive him anywhere he wanted to get rid!

Hamza - £3m

Souttar - £3m-5m - couple of good games at the World Cup a Champ club will come in, which is a shame as I'd want him here as captain next season

Vietes - Anything is profit, probably go back to Spain

in terms of high earners only leaves us Jannik, Winks and BDCR and I have a horrid feeling we will get stuck with them.
