Even if we haven’t played well I still expect us to be 3-4 points better off which is probably what the majority of us would have expected at this stage of the season. 6-7 points out of 9 available.

 

To just be on 2 points from 9 available is paltry and to be quite frank not good enough, but I guess it’s early days so have to be patient under Russell ball….

Promotion in 2024 was a bit of respite. But even at the end of that season the PSR debacle was well underway. I knew we were relegated in 2025 before we'd even kicked a ball.

 

I feel no hope at all under this owner. Absolutely none. There is a world the Bristric and Kangasniemi signings really interest me but their time here feels underpinned by the gravitational pull of decline that seeps out of the owner.

 

It's why the losses really don't upset me much and the wins don't really bring me a lot of joy. To me the club just feels on hold.

 

The problem is it's going to take a lot longer to get back to any decent standard the longer he's here. I want an owner that makes me actually feel something for the club again. It shouldn't feel like this.

At a time when we have a massive number of players still with us who are leaving and where we are playing kids at a higher level than most have experienced. We can’t change the owner overnight but the team is delivering what has been asked by the fans in terms of line up. Martin is playing the kids and playing to their strengths which is playing with the ball at their feet and not percentage ball. Hopefully results will come as the players develop, if not we know how this ends in terms of Martin but he and the team need way more than 3 games to have a fair chance. At the same time yes we all want a new, better owner!

we were 2-0 down and getting battered before Skipp was sent off... You talk like the 10 men is an excuse, but that game was lost and gone while we allegedly had 11 players on the pitch.

You can apply basic knowledge of football to know that it was. We were getting absolutely battered, never even had a half-promising bit of territory.

Already 2-0 down at Burton when Skipp was sent off. Let’s not pretend it affected the outcome.

Going down to 10 men actually helped us against Burton, we improved after that. So no good using that red as an excuse, just that Skipp is one of the biggest frauds in football history.

Everything I said I stand by because it's still underpinned by this owner. Don't forget within the timeframe I mentioned that we have still won a league in that time. For as long as he's here and there is nothing concrete in place, nothing is going to bring me any enthusiasm. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is, I can't fake it.

 

It isn't impossible that this team clicks and that we do go on a good run and get promoted. Martin did do this at Southampton after all having had a very sketchy start with them too.

 

The level of overhaul isn't enough for me. It's a partly new team. It isn't a fully complete job. We've also by the looks of it added to some of the mess.

I mean we were 2-0 with 11 men and technically won the rest of the game, when down to 10 men 1-0 so in terms of that particular game, they’d be an argument to say we were better with Skipp off. 
 

Yes it is a bit tongue in cheek as there are other factors at play but it’s not the best example to use to argue going down to 10 men affecting/costing us the game.

 

I reckon most of us realised when we went 2-0 down the game was gone regardless.

Forgot the future reading power of ‘basic knowledge of football.’ BKF for short. Presumably you win millions every week betting on football by applying this groundbreaking BKF.

I don't get why you're being sarcastic. If a team has been outplayed for 25 minutes, offered nothing, could barely string 5 passes together despite trying to play possession football,  are 2-0 down and down to 10 men, you can confidently assert they are out of the game.

 

Do you have any examples where a team has come back from that?

Yes I realised you were. Still a long time.

 

Not related to the 10 men bit, but in the title season, we came back from 2-0 down quite a bit and you had confidence we would. For years now, the mentality, set by the owner and through the managers he employs, isn’t one of a team that can mentally come back from a 2 goal deficit.

 

If you think we were coming back to win that game 3-2 or 4-2, you’re of course entitled to that opinion. There is zero evidence to suggest that was ever going to happen of course and puffing to a 2-1 defeat was the likely outcome based on what we have seen over and over in recent years.

Sad to see Jodi go, but glad that this saga has come to an end.

Jodi was a big part of why we now play in League One. He wanted a long term deal and we wouldn't give it to him.
