As I said before he was a bad appointment. But you can keep saying this, but there’s obviously countless examples of managers having a bad run of 5 fixtures and then turning it around. The players don't want his style; they want to play; they want to mess up occasionally, but on their terms. They are scared to move beyond 66 yards, shit scared. That man is a poison to their instincts.

There is…and then there’s RM and what we’ve seen so far here. Soton (when he went on that run) was an anomaly and when you look at it, the squad they had was a total joke. It was as good as or even better in terms of balance than the squad Enzo had. 1

Exactly, which makes his comments all the more infuriating because it will probably affect the confidence of those kids who've been our best players, far above Martin's "mates" that he's bought in. Take some accountability, or at least be big enough to shield those younger players from any criticism, don't throw them under the bus. Get him gone! 1

But it genuinely wort work for Russell, he’s proven that he’s inflexible and will not deviate from his philosophy…. The problem is his philosophy is clearly a load of shit, it’s not working, his arrogance is blinding his ability to see this. He is a terrible coach, and he is proving it with what he is producing on the pitch. There will be no improvement, because it’s plainly obvious his system is flawed beyond redemption. The red flags were there in the last pre season game, and quickly became even more apparent when the competitive season started. Martin won’t change, his methods do not suit this team, and it will only get worse.! 4
jimsmallman Posted 5 September Posted 5 September After actually doing a little bit to get us all inside through clearing out the bulk of bad eggs and signing a load of players, the club will now ruin that good will by not firing this charlatan until it’s far too late. Not one single person can watch us and not see the glaring, horrible problems with the tactics and management. Hes had five games and a whole pre season. Get him gone NOW. They won’t, of course.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 September Posted 5 September There's no way he's going yet when he's been given players he specifically wanted right up to deadline day. The board will back him. I just can't see it ever working with him in charge. The previous managers after Enzo were terrible but they could blame the deadwood players and their bad attitudes. This guy has been given his own players and been backed. Absolutely no one to blame but himself

If he was that special, he'd be nowhere near Oxford United.

Foxdiamond Posted 5 September Posted 5 September To be a fly on the wall when Top and Rudkin sat down to discuss Martin getting the job. They must have ignored all red flags about his recent debacle or two. The obsession with the discredited tippy tappy then lose it style. That the fans were dead against him. If we asked a rival to pick the worst coach they would have arrived at Martin. From a wonderful story we are a laughing stock in quick time
weusedtobegood Posted 5 September Posted 5 September He blamed the younger players, its his tactics that failed because we walked the ball out from the back while they rushed the ball forward. Anyone who couldn't win a game with Rangers in a poor Scottish league shouldn't be a football manager.

fox_favourite Posted 5 September Posted 5 September I just want to like the manager and team again, KP are making it really, really hard of not impossible by employing the dingbats we've recently had. They got lucky with Enzo but everyone recently has been an utter disaster from the start. 1
Motiv8a Posted 5 September Posted 5 September Not being able to adapt tactically and being a one trick pony is a recipe for disaster. Playing the kind of football we are trying to play seems suicidal unless you have the best footballers in the world. It’s difficult because it seems like things can’t get any worse but they absolutely can. I never wanted Russell in the first place and on a personal and emotional level I really want him gone. Logically though is it worth rolling the dice again every 5 mins and expecting our luck to change? Idk I’m at a loss really. On second thoughts **** it just get rid. YOLO. Maybe the next one will work
