The standard is dog muck and anyone that can take the ball on the turn and get the ball moving forward will look like Xavi Hernandez.

I'd refer you to the bottom half of the Championship, full of teams we couldn't beat with dross like Skipp (and plenty of others) or finish above. I get your point but both of them would probably start for us. Which says a lot really. 2

It's probably almost as pronounced these days as Prem to Championship. 1

Ipswich have gone back to back since then and didn't even win League One. I'm not trying to play up the competition here necessarily. I thought last years Championship was diabolical and getting relegated out of it from our position is up there with the worst season a team has ever performed. But that in itself is the point. I can't play others down with ourselves being in this state.

I get that but I don't think we were relegated because we were playing Skipp. IMO when we played with Skipp holding, James in a box to box role and Mukasa or Page in an attacking role we looked fine. More than enough to be a mid table finish. All three roles worked. But there's no world where a 36 year old Oliver Norwood starts for us. It just wouldn't happen.

If he wasn't doing it against Northampton's reserves earlier in pre season it's not going to happen against league one opposition. 1

He won’t play any differently, just like Mav has proven in preseason. I think Skipp looked awful when the ball was being played out under pressure. He can’t tackle with his feet opting to run into a player, tracks runners when it’s too late and can’t turn with the ball. His default is smash the ball backwards even if he’s on the edge of the oppositions box. Hopefully the club are doing their best to get rid of these two. Nothing to gain by playing them.

We weren't really good in any position other than scaring the occasional belter, which as this dried up later in the season the results did as well. The defence was rubbish but we haven't had a proper defensive midfielder in years, which is where I'm pointing fingers at Skipp. For somebody who gets credit for doing 'dirty work' I don't think he's really that good at it. I think time will tell but I personally think you're overestimating the level of performance we've served up. On the flip side, does Skipp go into Stockport for Norwood last season and raise their level? On paper, yes, he should be comfortably better. In terms of actual performance I don't think there's a great case personally.

Even on the local park he'd Huff and puff but ultimately end up getting given the run around. He's useless. Doesn't score doesn't assist, isn't quick, isn't strong, isn't a good dribbler, isn't a great tackler, nor a good passer. He's the worst signing we have ever made in terms of outlay and return. Then outlay was the majority of KDH money and the return is back to back relegations and hardly one decent performance. Get him gone even if it's some of his wages freed up. If he keeps Page out of the team this year I will riot. 3
