Spending on women’s teams doesn’t give any write-off under FFP/PSR.  It just doesn’t get included so the PSR calculation is the same whether the spending happens or not.

I’ll stand corrected. I was going off PSR calculations such as below which show the women’s teams as a permitted deduction.

I think we're probably talking about the same thing just using different terminology, particularly around write off.

If a team makes a 100m loss with no excluded spending (such as women's team) the PSR loss is 100m.

If they had additionally spent 10m on the women's team to give a total loss of 110m, the PSR loss is still 100m.  The women's spending hasn't impacted it at all which was my (possibly badly made) point.

Costing the owner cash he doesn’t have, and bringing in very little. Forget PSR, new CEO probably looking at downsizing the expense as much as possible.

It doesnt make business sense to do that, not that there is any evidence of business acumen within the club.

It's not what we want and probably not something anyone will ever admit, but maybe WSL2 is just where they want the team to be, cheap to run, still have the PR of having a womens team.

Maybe that's just where the aspirations end currently. Sadly for us.

Was super highly rated before the move to Man City, only 20, see if she can rekindle something

I think some are expecting us to sign Bunny Shaw.

It's a smart buy, can only assume she's on quite low wages. Have to take these risks, she either doesn't do much and she goes at the end of her low cost contract. Or, she starts living up to her promise and we can potentially sell her for a tidy profit.

Low risk, high reward.

I see your point about low risk high reward but if she’s not finding the net after 12 games in the Scottish League she’s got a lot of learning to do, and I’m not sure we have time for that.

I’d much rather we had gone in for Rio Hardy  or Amy Andrews, proven goalscorers at this level who know the league but I suppose that requires some form of ambition, neither of which Passmoor or King Power have whether it’s on or off the field.

At the moment the squad needs experience, Lehmann running around in circles is easy to play against and Tierney jumping out of tackles isn’t going to cut it, Tierney hasn’t  been the same since Pattinson clobbered her at Brighton, she lacks bite and has lost a yard.

Interesting that Keane hasn’t featured in the preseason games of late too, she seems to bring confidence to her defence whereas Clark seems quiet and shaky.

They have a tough start, and Kirk coming back to the club with Durham early on will be a test. A long season ahead I think, Spine of the team needs massive improvement.

The Nystrom signing alone proves thats a load of rubbish tbf, which granted hugely surprised me because I wasn't expecting to have much positivity at all re: the women's set up this season.

Long way to go and we desperately need 2 more CBs but its not the end of the world situation it could've been

I see from some of the training images that Marie Hourihan is our new assistant manager. Managed Plymouth last season, obviously another Irish connection.

And yes apparently she is related to Conor the assistant manager for the mens team.

She told a few fans she was sticking around this season after the Charlton play off game. She’s actually a nice lass that trains hard, just not the best footballer but can’t fault her attitude.
