I think the value of a football club is based on four things.

 

1. Playing squad - we’ve gone from €520m in 21/22, to €60m as of today. Bonkers. Middlesborough has a more valuable squad than us. If anything as we sell players, it will drop in the immediate future. However I would

anticipate the likes of Page, Carr, Nelson etc will have breakout years and the values increase with a return to the Championship.

 

2. Infrastructure - we win this with ease. Stadiums are relatively similar, we are more ideally located being in the Midlands. We have one of the world’s best training facilities. Belvoir Drive if you need it, then you consider all the land we own for the stadium redevelopment. 
 

3. Brand - again, this is in our favour, as we have a larger reach albeit we haven’t capitalised on it very well at all. You could argue you’d make the £40’lm difference back in a rebuilding Leicester documentary in a similar vein to the ones Sunderland / Wrexham have trotted out. Russell Martin would be a great front for this. 
 

4. Future earnings potential - This is 50/50. Short term I’d suggest you’d get more from Middlesbrough, due to them being in the Championship. Longer term, with our foreign fan base, expansion potential etc, we are a better bet.

 

That makes sense ….. I think. 

I think our brand and our global pull are very overstated. Of course, we're probably a name that more people across the world would recognize than the likes of Middlesbrough, but I'm not really sure how that translates to significant income. Even in Thailand, people don't really care about us. It's the Premier League brand, which we have been associated with for so long, which has boosted our global brand, but the longer we're not part of that, the weaker the image gets.

For us it’s the best time but for a investor totally wrong time could save them a fortune

The real reach is social media really and ours is dwindling as we are in free fall.

 

I think we are now down in something like 125th in the world, and 10th in the UK, albeit we have the social media reach of 3 or 4 times the size of Middlesbrough.
