Cullen, Alves, Page (if he stays), Chaplin, Burns... We could absolutely have a genuine goalscorer at the club already, it doesn't have to be a striker.

Realistically you are always going to need goals across the squad, in the recent past we've enjoyed Vardy wracking up good numbers but there was always a supporting cast Ryiad and Shinji when we won the league, Dewsbury- Hall, Mavididi and Fatawu when we were last promoted.

 

We aren't going to be lucky enough to unearth another Vardy so the supporting cast is going to have to carry us. Possibly why we've taken the punt on the second lad from Brighton as he's scored plenty at junior level.

Arguing that JJ being our top scorer despite being injured and our strikers being wank is some sort of positive is a really bizarre justification for what the club is doing.

I really don't think we have enough firepower yet. Hoping we get one more in, someone good in the air would be useful.

How do you read it as justification?? 

My point is that our main goal threats may well be from other areas/players than our striker and that we shouldn't reduce the striker role to just being a goal machine.

Surely the striker has to score 15-20 goals minimum as well as the others chipping in? I think the concern is fans can't currently see 1 player in the whole squad who even guarantees you 15 goals at league 1 which when 2 seasons ago we were a premiership team it boggles the mind.
