No we should at least give him one more game

As long as it’s just the one.  Im

not bothering with MK away so I won’t have to witness the multiple chances we create for the opposition!

Wtf is the negativity about?

none of you wanted us to win to concentrate on the league, you wanted us to crash out

here we are crashing out, but with an actual half decent performance which is what we’ve been at the very least craving!!

Make you F’ing mind up ffs

much more positive signs from tonight, not perfect, but hopefully something good to take into MK at the weekend

Keep that in your mind on Saturday

Calm down. We've been excellent tonight and the better team overall. Some really promising football. Scoreline with a freak goal flatters them. Play like this for the next 44 games and we piss league 1.

Always difficult when your chasing the game when you don't have a forward on the pitch

You say that, but until we've tried it 40 times how can we say for sure

People have been whinging (quite rightly) and throwing round xG stats as a negative. Tonight against PL opposition, 2 tiers above us we've had more possession, a higher xG, more shots and more touches in the oppositions box.

We can't kid ourselves that their line-up represented PL opposition, and their application was pedestrian at best.

I saw the game, and regardless of stats (does anyone seriously flash xG around as a reliable marker any more?) Ipswich looked like the more likely team to score for me. Yes, there are positives as regards to maintaining possession, but if you want to see proof that we have a cutting edge, then there was very little.

Of course, time will tell. I've been as keen as you to emphasise that Martin needs patience, but I didn't see much to further his cause - as regards being an effective unit either defensively (understanding, given the line-up) or offensively, in this game.

A bit better with the younger players but still doubts remain…
Some nice pretty patterns but the same old problems that aren’t going to go away. Notably super-risky passing out from the back putting us in trouble, no variation in our play making us predictable and a complete lack of cutting edge in the final third.

How long is the ‘philosophy’ going to be more important than results.

Read the room.

Ditch your blue tinted specs and get a realistic point of view. I watched the game and we were by no means "excellent".

When a 3 - 1 loss to Ipswich is us being excellent I start to question reality

Perhaps not, but the vast majority of them were there when they won promotion to the PL and we're currently way below that.

I feel like we often created chances to have chances if that makes sense? Then there was either the wrong decision or a blocked shot. I think it's the most fluent we've looked in the build up so far too (not difficult, admittedly.)

I assume for Leicester then it’s been Alton Towers’ Oblivion

Martin Ball will only work if we stop giving the ball away in midfield after nothing passes. It just invites teams to bide their time and hit us on the break. Having more possession and passes means nothing, when the opposition know your tactics, at any level.
