Ed 1 Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 http://www.plymouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=9909 Plymouth Argyle left back Rufus Brevett is set to leave Home Park with Leyton Orient and Leicester City both interested in signing the 36-year old. Sources in Leicester indicate that the Foxes new manager Rob Kelly wants to take Brevett on loan for the rest of the season. Leyton Orient have also shown an interest in the former West Ham United defender, with the O's boss Martin Ling keen to add experience to his defence as they seek promotion from League Two. Brevett has been out of favour at Home Park and has been told by manager Tony Pulis that he is not in his first team plans. Brevett has reportedly been offered a £60,000 contract pay-off and has stated that he would like a move to a club in the London area. It seems a move away from Plymouth is now about to happen.
Shum Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Hmmm we need a Left Back if Sheehan isn't going to be played.. But not sure about who!

Have we not learnt about left backs and plymouth yet?
linekers tactical side Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 no thank you he's past it, sheehan is the man
wonderboy Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 no thank you he's past it, sheehan is the man I agree Sheehan is our man come on city lets do the derby
Ric Flair Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 I'm devoid of an opinion on this one for some reason. Can't see why Sheehan isn't trusted to be played there. I know we are lacking experience throughout the team but you want it in the right areas from the right sort of players. Brevett at 36 might not be what we're looking for.

If this report is true, it looks as though Kelly doesn't think Sheehan is ready yet!!!
Guest seanfox778 Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 i've seen plymouth a coulple of times this season and there fans do not like him he was very poor lost the ball on numerous occasions and just generally s***
Ricey Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 I remember he was good for Fulham a few years back but since then he's failed to impress.

Scow Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Would have been a decent option a few years ago. If Plymouth don't want him, then that says it all really.
Shrew Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 as i live in cornwall ive got 2 home park a couple of times this season with my pilgrim mate and he really has been shocking. seems to be the kind of player whos past it and knows that so is just there to pick up his wages. when i saw peter gilbert i thought he was a decent player under sturrock but this boy really is past it. as i see it sheehans obviously the future and it would ask too much 2 throw him in when we're in desperate need of points. a few more wins and i could see him getting his chance!
bald reynard Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 I would have thought we would have learned our lesson with Adams - NO MORE 36 YEAR OLD'S PLEASE !! Doesn't sound like he's any good anyway. Either stick with Johansson & Sheehan or buy/loan someone else (under 30 if poss !)
Thracian Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 Thracian must be close to tears. Thracian no longer cares that much. I've had my say on the subject and believe it is City's loss, certainly not mine. Also while I believe the Board had little choice in the end and while he clearly deserves his chance, I am in no way convinced that Kelly is the bold and visionary manager we need to take us forward to the Premiership even though I do look forward to him proving me wrong.
Leicester City Posted 14 February 2006 Posted 14 February 2006 We've gone down the young exciting players route and you all hated it. Let's go for the old, near dead players this time, shall we?

We cant even think of the premiership until next year, our goal right now is maintaining championship status. Hence the until end of season contract.
